I bought mine about two months ago and did extensive research on how to improve my shooting experience. I have polished the bolt but no profiled it and Im getting read to polish the bolt carrier. Ive done some searches on here and I read a lot about polishing the carrier. For the most is it for cosmetic purposes? Im dont want to remove any material from it.

*Properly done* it can significantly reduce drag on the bolt on both the extraction and loading stroke. It should also reduce the focused pressure that certain bumps on the bolt put on the side of a plastic shell, which can leave a dent in the shell.

Improperly done, it can cost you a part that is all but irreplaceable. Or you can make more drag, or pressure in the wrong places, but removing material in one area and not another, so that the bolt will have to fight the slope to rotate.
