Kalashnikaufman 0
Has anyone ran these mags through an izhmash 7.62?
haugpatr 972
What is your point? I am sure somebody somewhere has ran those mags through an Izhmash 7.62.
dubya 198
What do you mean what's his point?! He wants to know how well they work. No need to be a smart ass. I have the polymer 40 round Bulgarian mags and they work awesome in my Saiga so im sure they'd work equally well. If they're under $25 bucks id snatch a few up. I apologize, thought you were trying to be a jerk.

MTRamMan 1
a little off topic, but are the poly 40 round mags overly bulky? Are they really practical or is it just as easy to run 30 rnd mags. I'm just now buying mags for my Saiga 7.62 ans was thinking I'd get a variety. Thanks, Dan
LuPiN8oR 333
In all honesty i have a bulgy 40 rounder and its a tad cumbersome but its fun. Guess im acclimated to 30 or less. 30 for fun nd 10 for hunting.
dubya 198
30 rounders are perfect for anything but hunting but its cool to have a few 40's too. They look kind of cool and work just fine, not cumbersome IMO.
LuPiN8oR 333
Eh i might not like em as much bc with a 40 rounder the grip pods (gps-02) legs arent long enough. Just thought about that lol
Spetnaz Soldier 47
Ya I wouldnt mind havin a 40 rounder. I have a bunch of 30's (with 10 round blocks) but with two 40 rounders coupled together, you got 80 rounds of rock n' roll and no other gun can beat an ak let alone with 80 rounds of wall piercing, ball dropping, door breaching, power house. dubya 198
Yeah they're fun for mag dumps! I have 6 loaded up ready to dump whenever i need em! Still prefer my 30 round Palm mags tho.

That being said walking around with a saiga and full loaded 30 round magazines is a recipe to buff your arms up some. dubya 198
Yeah no kidding! Especially since i hunt with one of the lightest rigs around ;Kimber Montana 338 Federal with Leupold VX-3 1.75-6x32
LuPiN8oR 333
Haha if i were hunting boar id have a couple 30s on me as well! Unfortunately (or fortunately depending) though boar are not extremely common here (yet). Biggest critter around here is black bear and i dont hunt them. Just whitetail. Spetnaz Soldier 47
I just bought a citadel 1911. i wanna hunt pigs so i bought it for my sidearm. my primary is of course my ak (saiga 7.62x39). is that enough punch for those bristley bastards?

I use partizan PPU 123 grain softpoints out to roughly 150 yards. I believe the round loses effectiveness quickly against hogs out past 150 yards. The round does some really nice damage so kills are quick. Here's a picture with the ppu. I plan to try the tula and Barnaul SP ammo when I get a chance. I've been told by several people that even the HP would work fine for hogs. Edited February 14, 2013 by Tool_of_Society
LuPiN8oR 333
Yeah if you get some tula 124g hollowpoint check the inside of the nose for 4 tiny lines with a needle. I took a huge pumpkin and shoved two big phone books in it and shot. Entry hole looked normal, exit was a fist sized hole! I was super psyched over it!
