pistonring8 1
I will offer this deal to you one time, and one time only. If you send me that kit. I will fabricate a reciever for it and send you a very detailed color picture of what it looks like completed. Range report $5 Ive seen a few of them around. Cool looking sub. I dont know much about them. Probably along the lines of the Sten and Sterling for recievers, gotta start from scratch and work your way up. Looks like you got one in damn good shape with most of the FCG stuff. I would poke around on Subguns.com or the DIYguns forum or even <cough>Gunsnet<cough> for examples of built versions. Im sure you will be able to find info on difficulty levels and technical aspects. Remember....Its supposed to fire from a semi-auto "closed bolt" now.

Cobra 76 two 2,677
I know a dude in Russia who loves his. I've seen some video of him firing it. Man that baby sprays some lead!
dodgeturbointerceptor 1
Well. How the heck would I build this? The whole upper is one piece!
pistonring8 1
It would need to be milled to spec. I dont think you will be lucky enough to find these useing a sheet metal reciever or 14 guage pipe.

pistonring8 1
Damn! Nice info on these! Looks like a nice cheap build for someone who can do a little machine work. Looks like they would need a barrel extention for legal rifle length, or loose the buttstock for a pistol build, or pay the tax stamp for a SBR. If you have a legal SBR does it also have to fire from a "closed bolt"? The only problem with these kits now adays is that they have to be made to fire on lockup. That can be very difficult and may require drastic modification of the entire inner workings. I love the Sten!
pistonring8 1
You could ask around on other forums, there are quite a few people interested in building cheap sub semi's. Here's one. And another There is also a forum for DIY firearm builders, I can't find it at the moment, but the guys there are very good at machining recievers for all types of parts kits. If you get some time, see if you can find the forum. I ran into it by accident once. You will be able to find a few pages of info on building a pipe type reciever there. You will also find lots of helpful hints and tips to avoid mistakes from folks who have had successful builds. Some of the pics posted over there are wild! Especially of the homebuilt .50's
