romad7 75
Anyone know the thread size for the gas piston rod? I chopped mine off and lost the threaded portion so I would like to go buy a bolt to screw into the cavity in the end of the bolt carrier and cut it flush then weld it. romad7 75
Like this but instead of a nicely machined end that I will just cut off, I'll just use a simple bolt.

http://store.carolinashooterssupply.com/servlet/-strse-1284/Tromix-Saiga-12-shorty/Detail So I just need the thread dimensions from that part. Cobra 76 two 2,677
Yes it's a standard AK gas piston thread size. You can get the tap from akbuilder or Brownells, if for any reason you need one.

haugpatr 972
Yes, why not? I thought you were going to try and use a long bolt as a gas piston, makes sense for a SBS set up.
