Deadeye 325
Im just wondering if there is a reason the 308s come with a much stronger disconector spring. is it needed. I modded my tapco triger to fit the factory spring.

sapper1371usmc 107
Well, considering how many people install aftermarket FCG with replacement Tapco disconnector springs, I would say it is not needed. I doubt the factory 308 disconnector spring is anymore stronger than any of the other factory disconnector spring used in the other rifles and shotguns.
Deadeye 325
you can feel a big diffrence in spring resistance in the 308 factory spring compared to the ak spring.
sapper1371usmc 107
I dunno, mine felt the same as any other AK factory spring. I seriously doubt they would have a S308 specific spring, just like all the extractors springs are the same, whether it is an S308, a S12, or a Saiga x39, 5.45, or 5.
VR762Shooter 838
I had to cut my 308 spring down to allow for any use with the Tapco. Hammer wouldn't even engage the disconnector by hand with the stock one in an opened up Tapco. Maybe they were nervous the extra energy of the 308 could dislodge the hammer from the disconnector when the bolt slammed home after a shot, maybe not. It is in an entirely different world from the x39 springs
