xICEMANx 13
Very cool! I plan on adding a lot of similar parts to mine
Brett248Vista 5
Thanks Iceman! The only down side is that DAMN she gets heavy with those clamped mags....
xICEMANx 13
Thanks Iceman! The only down side is that DAMN she gets heavy with those clamped mags.... No problem. Is the Salem6 handguard polymer or aluminum? I just found out they are local to me
Brett248Vista 5
Polymer, the GOOD kind.. think Magpul... Actually feels like a Magpul product and they designed all the holes to line up with Magpul rail sections. The kit comes with billet aluminum end caps and a billet machined guide rod and a billet end nut. Little better shot of the fore end

No problem with polymer here, should help with the weight!
AR-12 Shotgun 16
Thanks Iceman! The only down side is that DAMN she gets heavy with those clamped mags.... I run coupled 10s but actually like the extra heft, although I wouldn't want to carry it all day like that. The short period I'm handling it on a 3gun stage doesn't bother me. Brett248Vista 5
I would imagine with the coupled 10's it's heavy! Granted I added some weight with the weapons light and the Trijicon. I can handle the weight, but it's a LOT heavier today than it was the day it came out of the box, for sure! AR-12 Shotgun 16
Totally agree. Out of the box it was so light it almost felt like a toy.
Brett248Vista 5
Yep I took it up to my Mother's place to show her when I got it and she said "wow I can't believe how light this is" I said "Oh don't worry.. It's going to get heavier shortly
gunfun 3,931
The light feeling is one of the things I like about MKAs
compshootfl 40
I too agree, the light weight was great, even though it didn't last long. I would love to have someone go the other direction with the add-ons and make some goodies out of carbon fiber.
Brett248Vista 5
Even with all the changes I've made, with the magazines out, it's NOT heavy by any means. But those doubled up 5 rounders, 10 rounders or those huge things that practically touch the ground add a lot of weight (as does the ammo it's self). I would LOVE to see Magpul make 10-15 round poly mags for this beast!
