saltydecimator 482
i know that s what i am looking for! it somehow looked better than a regular m4 stock, not that thats hard but saw stocks are weird so ya wouldn't think it... this is the look i am talking about... maybe it was photo shop?! and don't forget that if such an animal existed for the s12 you'd get bonus style points for "a shoulder thing that goes up"!!! Nailbomb 10,221
I would think this one would be cooler...
MT Predator 2,294
The standard Para stock that Nailbomb posted sucks ass to get a good cheekweld on the irons let alone when equipped with an optic. We installed the pictured M4 style on our Para SAWs. Much better on our setup as we had EOTechs on the top cover. I could post a photo but I am on vacation away from my computer.
saltydecimator 482
not sure how that one would work as well, buuuuut, it looks ike the other one goes on a buffer tube... either way would be tits
MT Predator 2,294
The M4 style we used was a Canadian product. I don't think any of my guys ever tried swapping with other M4 stocks so I don't know if they are the same size. I do know the ones we purchased were expensive as shit though for the entire rig. saltydecimator 482
Guy that has the stock says regular buffer tubes either mil spec or comm won't fit. Not sure why
saltydecimator 482
So I guess I am sol. Man that's weird. I coulda swore I saw it on here but I must have dreamt it
Nailbomb 10,221
nah your not. you need to look more. It was posted on this forum on a tromix shorty, and bumped within the month. http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?/topic/92112-check-out-my-tromix-with-249-savit-stockwarning-bad-ass/
twin60s 4
Yes that was my thread on the stock adapter,in my opinion the best stock option out there. Can email me for details if you like m60dg@aol.com
twin60s 4
Funny the 249 Para was brought up as that was my first choice to make work but poses many issues, currently trying to figure it all out ,.The cool factor/sexy factor is just way out there.
MT Predator 2,294
For the cost, I'm not seeing an advantage to the M4 style M249 stock plus needed adapter on a Saiga. ( I know the particular rig we went with on our SAWs was damn pricey). With all the M4 stock options out there, why not throw on an adapter and standard buffer tube aka receiver extension or the fixed versions made for an AK plus a buttstock of choice? Too many options available out there plus you can make them into a folder if desired.
twin60s 4
Prices on Savit stocks are generally under 100 each, the government of course paid 1200 each at least Im sure. The savit stock also is a bit beefer than your typical AR/M4 stock and also offers the wire stabilizer. And why would you want a folder on an AR style stock? This stock just fits a shorty Saiga just all too well, like it was made for it. saltydecimator 482
My fu WAS super w eak!! Thanks! So I asked in an email but might as well discuss here, couldn't the original buffer assy be retained and utilized some how ?
twin60s 4
I suppose it could be done somehow but is beyond price constraints for most,a lot of machining involved.
Eric Pate 478
But custom 'smithing projects are super-cool, regardless of whether or not they make financial sense for the majority of users.
