garnaz 215
Got me a v12 3weeks ago. Finally got to take it out and did side by side with my s12. Both have their plus and minuses. Over all after getting used to magwell I like this platform. Not really a fan of cheek rest. But sits out of the way so no big deal.
brickfield mfg 86
The cheek rest is good if you are using an optic, but is too high for use with irons. If you are using it with an optic, it could be improved by making the notch deeper that holds it in the shooting position. I think the magwell combined with the last round bolt hold open, and the release button that can be manipulated with you trigger finger, are MUCH faster to use. Mullet Man 2,114
Is it the factory folder? I have kvar stocks on my v and s12 and the cheek weld is the same for both, at least I don't notice a difference.
garnaz 215
Yes folder. I tried cheek rest go see if I would like it. Would take getting use to but as of right now no optics just irons so will leave it folded out of the way.
ShadyVepr 10
first thing I did with my folder was cut the tac so it folds added a us made gas puck and trigger group. to keep it 922r compliant. I recently read that cutting the weld actualy turns the stock into a US made one so it helps with compliance. Edited February 16, 2014 by ShadyVepr

brickfield mfg 86
I don't think the BATFE would see it that way.. Using that same logic, you could take a foreign AK stock (wood of polymer), shave down the sides to fit a 1.5mm receiver, and call it US made.
