poolingmyignorance 2,191
Need more info. What shells were you shooting? They're only basically similar to saiga. Not sure if anybody here has any real experience with them first hand. I put one back on the shelf after finding cracks in the bolt of a brand new one
gunfun 3,931
Right. Give us all the numbers on the lit of the box. In a sense the process for tuning should be similar, but the variables will be different. We should work from the same basic ammo, but if port mods are needed, we are in new territory. Guess, check and step up will be needed. The technical writing is not technically very good either: http://www.centuryarms.com/manuals/pdf_flipbook/Catamount%20Fury%20Shotguns/files/assets/basic-html/page10.html Except for the TOC. That is just stellar: http://www.centuryarms.com/manuals/pdf_flipbook/Catamount%20Fury%20Shotguns/files/assets/basic-html/toc.html

kleinarms 2
Yes, terrible lack of info.sorry. 1st round of firing was with 2 3/4 #7.5 1 1/8 @1145fps. Read in wonderful manual no loads under 1200. Just got back from testing 8 diff shells all over 1200fps. I believe that was my fail to eject problem. now the problem seems to be fail to feed. I did have one shell, rem 7.5, 11/4 high brass long range that functioned 3 mags15 shells. didn't realize this gun would be quite so picky. the feeding trouble seems to be not fully picking up next shell, but scraping it forward out of little grove in mag.
csspecs 1,987
I had that same problem.. Not exactly sure what the fix would be, possibly removing a little plastic or trimming the feedlips to allow the shell to pop up sooner. Seems the magazine design is less than perfect. kleinarms 2
would love to hear about any mods folks have done to improve mag function.
kleinarms 2
Well, got this fury to function very well. trimmed and polished feed lips on mags. now it chews thru any shell (1300fps and above) I feed it as fast as I can pull trigger. Now I want to figure out what I need to do to get it to accept saiga mags.
gunfun 3,931
Folks have done it, and even explained thier mods to me, but I don't really remember. IMO get one of the CSSpecs mags and cover it with melted wax. Insert it and you will see pretty quickly what is hitting where. Just fit until the shell lines up the same as the factory mag. I'd give up the ability to take catamount mags if a simple alteration or two would make S12 mags work without issue.
csspecs 1,987
Fury magazines are longer than Vepr 12 or Saiga 12 mags so a filler needs to be used. I have a test model for the Fury 1 that I'm still playing with, I think I can move the shell path around a little to help the action work a little smoother, but I've been lacking the time to get it done.
gunfun 3,931
In the meantime, he could plastic weld a spacer on to an existing mag, or get one of yours and weld on a steel shim.
Lomotil 1
I have a Fury II and was looking to either get it to readily accept S-12 mags, or mod the same 12-rd mags to fit this platform. Here are some pictures I took tonight. Feed angle seems exact, pictures don't really do it justice, but many of these angles and widths line up (wasn't able to confirm with my precision tools. Again, these are CFII mags...
