There are many reasons, not just one that the 2nd Amendment was put in the bill of rights.... It is absolutely crucial that we keep it and do let it be weakened ever again. Not with 'guns of a sporting nuture'..Our forefathers OUTGUNNED armies of their world.The english brownbess was smoothbore low-velocity and flashed so bad you could not fire while looking down the sites. We had smalller bore rifeled weapons with long distance accuracy and flash pans designed to allow AIMED fire. How anyone can argue that restricting what types of firearns we are allowed is ok within the intent of the 2nd ammendment is absurd.
