Herepetologist working with venomous snakes and crocs for 20+ years. Also build custom vehicles/Jeeps.
  1. Just slowing down to almost stop will stop the dw. Usually it starts at 45-50 mph.
  2. dw is kind of a random mystery thing, and its not unique to jeeps any vehicle that relies on a track bar to center the front axle can get it - dodge trucks are prone to it its usually caused by a loose track bar or worn bushings but shot ball joints can cause it too JKs are a little extra prone to it because they use 9/16' holes in the axle, frame and track bar bushings then stick a 14mm bolt through it so theres a tiny bit of slop to begin with. keeping the bolt tight will usually make up for it. but theres also a ready made kit with all correct 9/16 bolts and grade f9 hardware y
  3. There are a couple of schools of thought on options. do you plan to go mod crazy? then you might want to buy as stripped of a JK as possible since you're gonna end up swapping most everything out anyway. If you're gonna mod it mildly, then a rubicon is super capable out of the box and a lot of the mods you'd want to do anyway -lockers, lower gears, beefier D44 front axle, etc are already done and financed with the Jeep If your going to spend most of your time on the road and mild trails then its not much a deal breaker - get what you want/can afford. the new for '12 pentastar moto
  4. do it! if you have any questions on what mods work and what doesn't, good parts vs bad or whatever just PM me - I've been building JKs since they came out in 07. Everything from mild budget boost builds to full on supercharged w/ coilovers, longarms and 40"s. There are a lot of good parts out there and a lot of just plain crap especially when it comes to suspension. here's the shop Jeep
  5. mine came in today - thanks! game my old maadi a facelift - and it feels pretty darn good. before after
  6. if you have any left, I'll definitely take a stock and if you have any left - an upper, lower or both handguards - just let me know what you have and how much to send!
  7. Or this could be summed up with "because I can"
  8. or winchester Xpert steel shot 1325 FPS, cycles fine in my gun and is actually CHEAPER than bulk pack! bulk is $21/100 win xpert is 4.97/25 = $19.64/100
  9. with the factory puck it would cycle from the shoulder but not from the hip, I was going to work on the ports, but decided to give the CSS puc a shot first. now it will cycle from the hip as well. I havent tried the bulk winchester uni again, that crap ticked me off so bad last time that I won't buy it again. Also I found my WM has better ammo CHEAPER than the bulk pack - winchester xpert steel. 1325 FPS and $4.97/25. The federal and win uni bulk are $21/100 and 1200FPS. Hotter ammo and a buck cheaper per 100 rounds is a win win in my book - I bought all they had today. Guy looked
  10. What kind of video do y'all wanna see? Something like it cycling from shoulder but not hip w the factory puck then cycling from the hip w the CSS, all using Wally world federal bulk? I can prob shoot one like that here in a couple of days if that's what you're wanting.
  11. Been a herpetologist (reptile scientist- nothing to do with VD!) for 22 years and specialize in working with venomous snakes.
