  1. In the pic it doesnt have the lug but i have since added one. What i did was bought a AR15 front site post with a bayo lug attached.I happen to find a dealer at a gun show who had some takeoffs for $20.00.I cut the lug off about 1/4 of the way up the part that slips over the barrel, see pic",cut where red line is on front assembly"I then took a 7/8" grinding wheel and ground it to the curve of the barrel, fit perfect and gave more area to attach.I had mine brazed to the barrel, possible you could weld of maybe even JB weld ,its just for looks anyway. The bayonet just needs a little filing around
  2. That's all that needs to be done to use them in an unconverted Saiga .308? Or do tabs need to be added front and rear? Whats the scoop?
  3. Come on guys, lots of talk and no action,my converted 308 is on its way
  4. I put one on my Saiga 12.The pressure switch is located on the lower portion on the front vertical grip,it is activated with my pinky finger
  5. Im not 100% that lug will work.I think the lug has to hang down just a bit more to put the Bayo straight on the 12.It should work for those that are putting the front site posts on,but without the site post the top will have to be ground flat and it may not hang low enouph??
  6. Firefly will supply a regular AK style grip in the price or you can send him one of yours and he will knock off $15.00,i sent him a Tapco saw grip that he installed. He will supply a regular style AK buttstock for extra$,i put the ACE on myself ,real easy. The bayonet is a M16 style and all i had to do is file just a bit of the ring to fit over the barrel,in the pic there isnt a lug installed yet.Im waying the options on either making the lug myself or just buying a pre ban type front site and cutting off the lug and welding it to the bottom of the barrel,it has to hang down just right to keep
  7. They only asked me if it was anything hazordous, flammable, ect.Never asked specificly what was in it.
  8. I tried it out yesterday. The wood 308 furniture fits fine on the 7.62,all that is needed is to cut a small amount about 1/2X1/2" at the bottom base that fits inside the reciever. The plastic 7.62 furniture went on the 308 but was very tight .
  9. Just to revive this thread, wheres a source for a bayonet lug for a M16 bayo? I may have to buy a Front site post with lug or the DPMS barrel lug and cut it off.Any other suggestions? Im planning on welding it on unless something comes up that clamps to the barrel and still looks good.
  10. Heres a pic of mine that Firefly coverted,i added a few goodies
  11. Heres mine.Conversion done by Firefly arms.Bayonets still being worked on as i need to find a lug to weld onto the bottom of the barrel for the M16 bayo. Ace stock Tapco saw pistol grip Kobra red dot scope Laser Barrel cut to 181/2" Buffer Tech mag cinches
  12. Sent mine in a pair of cardboard shipping boxes i had from other guns that were sent to me.USpostal service /priority mail,i think it was around $15.00 insured.
  13. Just to prove how good Firefly is i contacted Sam to tell him how much i liked the coversion on my Saiga12 and asked if he also did conversions on the 308 Saiga and if the price would be the same.Well get this, once in my life i got lucky and he said he would make me a deal.He said to send my gun in along with $15.00 for return shipping and he would convert it for FREE! including trigger parts and pistol grip,in return he could use pictures of my gun for advertising.Im a happy camper to say the least.
  14. This looks interesting.Im having trouble inserting my loaded mags while cinched together.let me say when/if you decide to make a few more for members put me on the list for purchase.
  15. Thinking of converting my 308 with wood furniture to pistol grip and am hopeing the wood will fit on a Saiga 7.62 rifle im looking at. Id like to put a ACE folder and the 7.62 forearm on the 308. Will they interchange?
  16. I also recieved my Saiga 12 conversion today from Firefly Arms, they did a very nice job, especialy for the price.Took 10 days total from the day i sent it to the day i got it back Total: Conversion without buttstock,i supplyed grip..........$110.00 Cut barrel to 181/2"................................................25.00 Shipping both ways"appr"........................................30.00 ---------- Total...................................................................$165.00 Ill post a pic after i put the
  17. Randy, thanks for stepping up to the plate,i dont think Buffer Tech is gettin it.
  18. Geez,if they started to crack and he admitted tightening them to tight, is this company so cheap they couldnt put another set on? I have two AR10 cinches on mine and they work great.
  19. USP40,where did you get the buttpad thats on your gun?
  20. Just got a email from Sam at Firefly,my gun should shipped back out next Tuesday,if so ,they will have had it only 4-5 days including the weekend
  21. I sent my Saiga 12 last Monday, they should be getting it today or tommorrow. They said it should take under 10 days from the time they recieve it,i did send a check so im sure they will want to make sure it clears.I will let everyone know how it all goes.
  22. I was going to do it myself and im able, but with the price i found someone to do it for i went that route. For one, i am haveing trouble finding the trigger group, eveyones backordered.I figured buy the time i bought/had shipped/shopped for the trigger group, pistol grip screw, new drill bits, cutters for the dremil, screws, paint, clips, ect i was only actualy only paying someone around $50.00 to do it.Plus i have enouph on my mind right now to go thru the aggrevation on the build. If it was another time i would likely do it myself.
  23. Bet nothings going to happen, way more AR10,308 mags that will work with one cinch, there not going to put two cinches in packages for those mags just to cater to us few with 8 rd Saigas. If so a effert would have been made from Buffer Tech to satisfy us that contacted them about the issue.
  24. $100.00 ???? What method of shipping are you thinking of useing? Shipping there should be les than $15.00 each way.
  25. I have two,but just sent away for my 2nd cinch, total for two cinches shipped seperately=$50.00
