  1. Dupli it is.........And , when "someone is starring at the underside of you're trigger", it might be time to use it for what its made for! (Oh, you ment on the rifle!)
  2. Ok, I know I'm probably overlooking the obvious. But what is the most durable paint you guys can suggest to cover the spots during the conversion?
  3. Is the AK an overall better military weapon than the SKS? Yes. Does that mean that the SKS doesn't still have some specific advantages over the AK? No. SKS's are cheaper; they are every bit as durable and reliable as an AK, and in the case of the Yugo's they are a bit more accurate. They can also be fired and reloaded from the prone position without a huge 30-round mag sticking out of the bottom. Their internal magazines are reliable and protected from damage, whereas if you drop your AK mag and bend the feed lips you had better find a replacement for it or your gun is now a single-shot. I agr
  4. I respectfully disagree. The 7.62x39 will penetrate and stay intact better, it is a fine deer cartridge out to 100-150 yards. The .223 will tumble, keyhole or even blow up inside the target. It is a horrible round for hunting medium to large game. A lightweight, hight velocity round will cause more bruising and damage to the meat than a heavier, slower one that stays intact and exits the body. I'm not math inclined. But from experience on small to medium game (All we have in Texas), I have shot whitetail with a 30.06 and with a 22-250. The 22 round goes clean through, the .06 waist the qua
  5. Great collection..........Need to expand on the side arm section though. And those SKS's are on every corner for 189 in Texas.........just have to be picky for a pretty stock.
  6. By the way...........are Yugo tanks like those crappy little cars they sold over here? Great for American target practice!
  7. The 7.62 is cheaper and has much more knock down power, especially at close range. The disadvantage is it will bruise the meat all to heck on small to medium game, unlike a .223. So the .223 is a better survival weapon for SHTF. BBBBBUUUTTTTT.........I own a Bushy .223, a KelTec .223 and my Saiga 7.62 amongst other things and if the sky was turning red and I was running out the door, I would grab the Saiga. I figure I could use it to pick up another .223 somewhere along the way.
  8. 1.) Yes, AK's can with the Aimpoint and Ultimak rail. However, you mentioned you already have an Eotech so why not just use that with the quick detachable mount that is provided with it on top of the Ultimak? The Eotech is far better than an Aimpoint IMHO, however if you simply must have the ability to co witness with the irons, Aimpoint will do nicely on an Ultimak. 2.) The Aimpoints sit low enough on the Ultimak rail to allow for co witnessing, whereas the design of the Eotech does not, but you have the quick detach option with the Eotech. The Ultimak rail is the way to go on an AK. It'
  9. I got one of the last ones they had at DD Ranch. They are sold out now. They were selling the 16 inch with dimpled receiver for $299.95. louielouie I got 2 of them and am looking forward to modifying them. I bought mine locally for that price...........so you might shop around...................But then I only live a few miles from the Bush Man! (G W Bush)
  10. Golden Tiger...huh??......I found it at J&G Sales for $179 for 1000. Better than the Wolf I've found....so would most rate Golden Tiger a better choice??? Mayday FYI.......................I ordered a stock for my kids Model 60 Marlin from J&G..........It took two weeks after they said it shipped and when I inquired about it they said "tough, we don't give out tracking numbers". A REALLY bad experience in all. I got the stock eventually......long after his b-day, but I wont do business with them again!
  11. this question has been answered already. Read the thread. Ok, So the gas piston is the only way to keep the manufacturer config on it and use sure fire or master molder mags (US made)
  12. yes, and when it seems to be decided in court............we, the gun owner most often loose.
  13. I stand corrected. However, friends don't let friends put something that hideous on their AK's! Jim i agree.. those stocks are butt ugly... when I first started looking for a way to change my saiga i saw those stocks and decided to leave my weapon alone. then, thank god i found this site OK, Maybe I'm the miss fit here, but I bought my Saiga because it didn't look like a "war" rifle. But it would do the same job as one. A "Wolf in Sheep's Clothing" But I do want to use High cap mags...........or have them available for use, and know they work correctly. What do you advise to k
  14. Ok, since were on teh mag issue, Why does the import ban only apply to rifles? I have several imported handguns that have 15 round clips standard. It seams that all the Tarus, Springfield (croatia), Glock, etc, would be non compliant.
  15. I Think youre right. My Bushy 30 rd mags for my 223 hod 32 and function just fine that way, but Im sure its just extra space for teh spring to expand. One of teh mags for my XD does teh same thing with a extra round, teh others wont. I wouldnt worry about it unless youre loading that "spare" round.
