  1. The rear peep site is definitely not junk and is probably the best improvement for accuracy that doesnt alter the rifle. The tapco stock is a great one for those who like pistol grips or who are not the 'right size' for the standard length of pull with the wood stock. USA made the best 30 rounder, but if you want the best 20 rounder go with tapco. If you like stripper clips then search out the more rare 20 round fixed mag or just use the standard 10 round. USA mags are no longer made, so be sure to look at the floor plate for the USA stamp to make sure its the real deal. Choate makes
  2. www.classicarms.us I bought from them when they had a 5 mag set in an old romanian purse pouch for 65 bucks. They have some more mags now at a bit more.
  3. I find hotshot to be better than Wolf, but definitely not as good as winchester white box. It is 123 grain, berdan primed and non corrosive, so if you can pick up some cheap I would go ahead and get it. The spam can is nice for long term storage.
  4. The site is up and running and the forums are very active. This is a grass roots group trying to get things going like a nationwide march on state capitals and maybe eventually a large march in DC. With the low numbers of Republicans in the Senate and the RINOs (repubs in name only) that will vote anti gun, now is the time to act.
  5. Just a note, they are just setting this forum up today, so it might be a little slow at first to get registered and such.
  6. Some fine folks are getting together everyone in the firearms communities we have on the web into one place so that our rights as citizens are not infringed. Here is the original post at AR15.com http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&...4480&page=1 He has made this forum for 2nd amendment discussion. http://www.righttokeepandbeararms.com/phpBB3/index.php This is a grass roots movement by the people and for the people.
  7. The Romanian PSL is not a Dragunov knockoff. Though it bears a similar external profile it is 100% AK inside and is based on a reinforced RPK receiver. BattleRifleG3 can make a wooden ventilated H/G, and a PSL-style stock is available from many sources for AK's/Saiga's. I thought about doing such a rifle and really feel that an M76 replica would be the easier and better way to go. Or you could just get the Saiga V21, ventilate the H/G and skeletonize the stock. The picture you have is of an M76 Zastava, a Yugoslavian made marksman rifle in 8mm, just so nobody confuses it wit
  8. I was lucky in the fact that I live close to Centerfires physical location and that I caught them right when they got the last shipment in. Talking to the guy at the counter he said that if I had waited till the next week they would probably be sold out, which they were by hearing from others. I would suggest buying now if you want anything 'evil black rifle' like, even an SKS. My uncle was at Buds Gun shop which is a pretty popular retailer and he said the retail store was completely sold out of EBRs except for a few hi point carbines and a 2400 dollar colt AR carbine. BTW, I have a
  9. 400+ is too much unless it accepts AK mags and even then it would have to be in pristine shape. If he has the original wood as well as the tapco T6 then it would be around the 200 to 250 range in price. The posters above I believe are thinking back to the days when you could get the SKS new for 100-150, but that is no longer the case. New unissued Yugoslavian SKSs are going for 200 now and do not have the chrome bores that the Norincos have. The Tapco T6 is considered by SKS folks to be one of the best aftermarket stocks if you are going for the tactical feel, so although the collectors m
  10. I love Nagants...............damn fine rifle. Nagant is a pistol btw. The Mosin-Nagant is a rifle. Nagant Pistol t Mosin Nagant Rifle Not trying to be an ass, just hoping to steer people away from using the wrong terms. It could save you the headache if you order one on the phone and see another. The topload with the Garand and other rifles of those days were nice because of loading from the prone, but I agree that the list is a bit off.
  11. Thanks for that, quite obvious now that I see it. Now to find a seller that actually has them in. Seems centerfire is out of stock, which is too bad since I'm local to them.
  12. Ok so basically if I dont want to cut anything make sure I dont get a 'dimpled' receiver. Of course my next question is what does a dimpled one look like in comparison to a normal one? To the others, thanks for the encouragement. I did watch those youtube vids and read the walkthrough that is shown on another site. I think watching the member from here do it on his kitchen table really got my dad thinking we could do it, between the tools at his house and mine we should be more than set.
  13. But are the other holes such as the trigger hole already cut out, just underneath the plate that needs to be taken off? I could probably handle it if its just the pistol grip hole, just wondering about the other holes.
  14. My father and I have been looking into getting similar rifles, but with the rising costs of 'normal' Ak-47 imports, the thought of that is a bit of a deterrent. I think that a conversion of a saiga to the look that appeals to us would be a fun project, but my father is worried about having to mill/cut the new trigger holes or pistol grip nut holes. My question to you folks is this... On a 7.62x39 Saiga, does every receiver have those aforementioned holes already drilled or are there many times when those holes need to be milled/cut out in order to move the trigger group back to the sta
