  1. I was an armourer in the nz army( mid 80s to mid 90s), we had very old m16 A1s that had been dry fired thousands of times during their service life, no problem with fireing pins or bolts from this.
  2. Get what you can before it banned, here in nz the laws chaged about 10 years ago, you now need an endorse licence to own a military style semiautomatic rifle(mssa) at the time of the law change nobody realy thought much of it. now ak 30 round mags are $150 if you can find them second hand as you cant import them any more, there are around 4000 registered mssa rifles in the country and now you have to pay up to $1500 above face value for one. i wish i had bought up boxes of mags and and loads mssa,s back then, im now only able to have a semi auto with a 7 round mag, no pistol grip or flash sup
  3. Do any of you folks cast your own buckshot? i have been on the look out for a gang mold and the only one i can find is made ba a company called sharpshooter usa, i cant find a contact e mail address for them, they seem to only sell them on e bay and i dont have an account. so if anybody knows their address or any other company that makes buckshot gang molds please let me know? cheers tim
  4. Your laws are as confusing and irrational as ours! if i understand correctly if has rifleing you are able to turn it into a handgun?just throwing a few ideas into the hat, why not get a factory rifled 12ga pump and cut that down to pistol size, and just put slugs thru it. another idea is getting a 12ga barrel rifled, all it needs is one land and one groove and its technically rifled and the rate of twist only needs to be a couple of degrees over the length of the barrel and and it would be imparting spin but not enough to effect the wad and shot greatly?
  5. Nice howitzer, Italian? Japanese? its ww2 japanese, it was left on rabaul island after the japs got what was coming to them, it eventually found its way to new zealand.
  6. Hi , you dont need a foward assist on a fal/L1A1, just set the gas regulator correctly, it should spit the emply case out at least 6ft from the ejection port when lying in the prone position. if you adjust the regulator to do this you should have no problems. in NZ we have plenty of x army L1A1s around, before they were sold off the safty sear(auto sear )was removed and a spacer welded in , is that the case in the states . they did that because it only took a match stick to convert them to full auto!
  7. At least you gyus can get .50 ammo, my gun store hasnt had any 75mm ammo since 1945!
  8. Thanks for the replys, unfortunatly blocking a mag is not possible over here, the law strictly forbids mags that look like they hold more than 7 rounds, we are also not allowed free standing pistol grips. they dont want anything that looks like an assult rifle.i have seen 2 round extensions in some of the pictures here, where can you get them? cheers
  9. Hi Folks, first of all this is a great forum, plenty of interesting and skilled people to talk too! im after some 7 round saiga 12 mags, any ideas on who sells them and would they send them to new zealand? we are restricted to only 7 rounds in a semi over here so i cant import 10s and 5 rounds isnt enough!. im part way through my saiga12 build, have moved the trigger foward and part way through the stock, i will post some picks when it looks respectable. cheers tim
