Collectable EAA model? A constant reminder of how bad the previous importer sucked? If my Saiga had EAA stamped in it I would fill it in with JB, sand and refinish. Along with the Saiga for dummies stamp on the other side. I'd rather see K Mart stamped on there! No offense ya'll.

Just get a tapco G2 trigger group. If you want to replace all three parts with U.S. without changing to PG config. couldn't you just cut the trigger off the G2 set and install it where the Saiga fcg was. Wouldn't that be U.S. made? At least the hammer and disconnector would be. You could get a U.S. stock to be sure.

I think the reason most dealers are always out of single hook fcgs and they still have doubles is obvious. Most people are just too lazy or timid about making a little 1/2"long cut in their recievers to accomidate for the double hook. If you don't have a dremmel you can do it with a hacksaw blade and file in a few minutes. I thought it was fun. Improvise ,adapt and overcome.

Damn I knew something would come up and I would have to buy one of those Yugos to keep my Chinese SKS company. That would be fun as hell!! Even better than launching taters at the geese! Anyone know if it's legal to hunt deer with a .410 slug in N.C.? I don't know about legal but damned sure lethal! I was on my range yesterday and got my scope dialed in at 60 yds. That things bad as hell! The last two four shot groups I fired at a galv. steel duct each were within 3" circles with 2 through the same hole both times and left a hole in the front and back of the duct big enough to put your finger in.(about 3/4") I love that thing!!

I have a bunch of #2 Barnaul shot that I got from a gun show. Works great on geese! I would like to try the buckshot. I wonder how many balls are in there?

When I did my conversion all I could find at the time was a double hook. Took about a minute to cut the other slot in the rec. Works and feels great. If one is good two might be better. I have heard some say that another hook makes for more surface area and a smoother more even pull. I've also read that the Russians used the double in the old designs but went to single later because it was overkill.

Welcome to the forum Bob. If that's exactly what he said he is full of it. Izhmash, the factory in Russia that makes Saigas is still making them. EAA, the company in Fla. that has been importing them for the last few years sold out to Remington. They will now be importing the new line of sporting shotguns called Baikal(sp). They no longer wish to import the Saigas. If you look up at the top of this thread there is a new company who wants to start importing them and they are getting stuff ready. Welcome and read on. ozone I think you missed my point . Of course I don't just go blasting at anyone I see on my property. I have to run people off sometimes for fishing in my pond without permission and when I do I ask them nicely to leave and at my discression I may choose to inform them they can come back but only if I'm home and they ask permission first. If anyone is planning to use these on future conversions I would stock up now. I was at Lowes yesterday and the guy told me they only sold 4 last year and they probly would not restock them after the ones that I ordered. Home Depot had the same ones but they were all white.

That's another awesome looking 410. Is this a conversion or did it come with the AK trunion/rear sight assy? And is the gas tube and block off of an AK? Did you press off the gas block and replace it along with the handguard retainer? I would love to put wood AK furniture on mine.

I wan't to hear Vang's side of the story. Were there more guns on the scene that magically disappeared? He sure didn't leave too many folks behind to gather them up and hide them. A real investigation would turn up evidence of shots fired at Vang. With that many people, if they were trying to shoot him, I think someone could have hit him. I can't believe that someone who has family up there and has actually hunted there can be so naieve!
