  1. thought I covered this in your cleaning question thread...
  2. Since i made this post, i have discovered just how tough the Rust-Oleum Textured paint really it. that stuff is AWESOME! it dries to the touch in 15 minutes, but if you have the time and the patients, let it cure for 5-7 days its damn there indestructible! it barely makes marks on the receiver where the selector goes up and down, which we all know is real common on the AK's. it goes on really easy and the end result looks absolutely amazing!
  3. Ive always been a pretty fair shot off handed, but i have to admit this time i was resting across the hood of my truck when i made that shot. However, my buddy that was with me was 20 year retired military vet with combat experience and he about crapped his pants when i made that shot. He said he never thought he'd see the day when a "Ruskee Made Weapon" was capable of that kind of shot...lol. He then told me that he has never seen the 5.45x39 in person, but was VERY impressed with the results of the round, and said he was more than likely going to buy a saiga after seeing that!
  4. why dont you just go with one of these. www.scoutscopes.com
  5. K-VAR is the only way to fly as far as I'm concerned. You can't beat their quality and they are as tough as nails.
  6. I was looking at the ACE website, and i noticed that they are selling the Galil Pistol Grip for the AK's and i was wondering if anyone has tried one of these and how they might compare to the SAW grip. I kinda like the way they look, but i have not seen one in person. How big are they compared to the standard AK grip and do they have decent ergonomics?
  7. If im not mistaken, i was told by a couple Vietnam Vets that the North Vietnamese took their 7.62x39 FMJ's and filed the points flat a little bit to do more damage on impact, and from some of the stories ive heard from Vets, the effects were utterly DEVASTATING! Of course it was a direct violation of the Geneva Convention, but its not like they cared about that...
  8. Yeah, i think you're right, but after reading these posts about ProMags, who the hells gonna want em? lol
  9. I wouldn't be 100% surprised if that's the case. ProMags are garbage. There's a thread around here somewhere about them. I know the major complaint is the bullet guide tab on the front of them breaks off really easy. I have a SureFire mag and it's been 100% trouble free. I own a ProMag side mount and VFG. I really regret buying both. The side mount doesn't lock up right, making any scope I mount point towards the left of the receiver instead of lining up over the barrel. The locking tab VFG is almost completely worn away. Bottom line: STAY AWAY FROM PROMAG!!! LOL...funny you mention
  10. I really didnt want to dig up this thread again, but I had an issue with my DPH Muzzle Brake as well, except it happened after the very first shot. When i installed the brake, i tightened the set screws snug but not too snug like i was told to do, and when i fired the first shot, im glad i was wearing my sunglasses. I too felt the sensation of not only hot gasses hitting my left hand and face, but i actually caught some miner frag to my hand and face as well that i had to dig out with tweezers, cause some very miner bleeding. Luckily, there was no serious injuries, but it was enough to scar
  11. Ive only used the ProMag one time in my gun...if they wear that fast, ill be getting rid of them soon...
  12. Yesterday me and my buddy had my 545 out plinkin' and i saw squirrel, and we ranged it out to 201 yards. So I set my sights to 200 yards and to my surprise i hit that lil bastard with open sights! Needless to say: 53gr bullets can tear a furry to ribbons! Moral of this story to keep this thread on track. I had no idea these 545's were that accurate! Superior to my x39 saiga, which is pretty accurate in its own respects.
  13. I have one of those tactical mag releases, but my issue is at the top of the release just inside the mag well where the mag touches. the factory mags fit really well, but my ProMags wobble all to hell now, and both type of mags fit really well before the conversion...
  14. in all honesty, i think its every bit as accurate as a .223 / 5.56 out to about 200 yards or so.
  15. You really are as dumb as a sack of hammers aren't you? If it is "nobodies business" then why post it as a subject of debate on the Internet? We are not talking about an opinion, we are talking about "fact" based on years of testing and observation. And here a Noob like you come along with your slap happy new age "we are all special little snowflakes" bullshit that tries to make all options equal, just because you really really really want them to be. Look, I honestly have no problem with you using a .410, there are two many morons like yourself in the gene pool already. Dumb
  16. where can you get the extended mag releases? i havent seen those before. Keep this in mind...This is MY fault (there i said it)...i wanted to go with the Military AK trigger guard for the more authentic look. My mags all fit pretty good before the conversion. Im thinking when i drilled the holes in the new mag catch, they might not have been measured right and drilled them in the incorrect place being just a smidge off, and that might be the reason for this. I am thinking about bolting my factory mag release back on and going with a Saigatech trigger guard setup...would this be a wise o
  17. Man that is AWESOME! i've never seen anything quite like it, thank you for posting that!
  18. well, its pretty tight with the factory mag, but its enough to make me wonder about feeding issues with a PRO MAG. its got a good bit of wobble to it. what do i do?
  19. Right you are my friend, So true! I think Azrial needs to read this post, and sit back and think about this next time before he just starts in on Bashing peoples ideas and comments here on the boards. Ultimately...people are going to buy what they want, and its nobodies business and quite frankly...opinions dont really matter as long as you are happy with your purchase!
