  1. well it gets a lot of bad press because its a romanian gun dressed up all fancy-like to lure people to it. But i'm glad you got one that works, show some pics to us, and get a saiga!! you'll like it I'll agree that it has gotten plenty of bad press. The only part that is romanian is the reciever. Everything else is U.S. made from the barrel to the trigger. Besides the bad press it has ak enthusiasts disliking it because, at least I suspect, because it doesn't follow the traditional design of the ak, and looks more like an ar-15. It will be awhile before I can post pictures, but I'l
  2. I bought a Stg-2000c from McSport's last year for $475, and I have to say that I am impressed. Before obtaining the rifle my uncle had suggested a Yugoslavian underfolder like the one he had, but after firing his I notice that the underfolder was wobbly and the follow up shot was difficult to aim. After that I shot my brother's Century Arms ak-47, which had also sported an underfolder. To my dismay it was also wobbly, so I decided a fixed stock was something to pursue. I look around, both at ar-15 and ak-47, I decided that an ak-47 was better for my shooting situations. I looked around and
  3. I have cycled many wolf 7.62x39mm hollow points in my ak-47 without a glitch, so I would believe that Golden BearHP's would work also.
  4. I'm assuming that PANW's is included for consideration? A Post Apocolyptic Nuclear Wasteland? My defense against this is the same as a zombie defense largely, so I'll make my list all inclusive. * Situation: life in urban environment has become suddenly unable to sustain it's amassed populace due to outside pressures (Zombies, Nuclear Attack, Foreign invasion, Meltdown of Western Civilization), and large-scale exodus from cities and urban environments ensue in midst of mass panic, violence, and confusion. ** Game plan: round up any of my immediate family members who may be vulnera
  5. You say all are crap or just the one that your dad had pick up by random. I have heard a lot of negative stuff on the STG-2000c, but I own and shoot one on a regular basis, and I can say that it was one of the nicer ak-47's that I have shot. To each their own, I guess, have a good one (day).
  6. I would not reccommend the thermold mags for your ak-47 or variant. The problem that I and my family who owns several ak-47 made by different countries all have the same problem. They do not fit securely, they wobble. I would stick with steel mags. "To each their own" -unknown
  7. This reply may be to late to give useful information to the person who asked if the stg-2000c is worth any investment. First I have heard plenty of negative comments on the stg-2000c, mainly that it is wobbly and that it does not accept steel mags. I bought mine in early 2008, when this question was first published, and that was the first thing I noticed when I barked off 30 rounds of sweet ak power was that it was wobbly. But after being told by many that the steel mags would work only with gunsmithing to the gun I bought some steel mags of different origin, Bulgarian, Russian, and Hungar
