  1. See, I just don't see this. If they can crank out 870's for $250 retail - I swear there are less moving parts in a Saiga. It's stamped and a shotgun barrel - how much cheaper can you get? And I think this is the point - they may not have to compete with Izhmash much longer.
  2. This may have already been said, but at $700+ prices, you can't tell me that domestic copies can't be cheaper. Please, let's take a page out of the book the rest of the world is playing by...
  3. Dollar-cost-average them fella's. Bought one at $260? Buy another at $120 and they will have each cost $190 - that's a deal!
  4. Hmm... Does that mean if a new virgin barrel trunnion were manufactured, an AOW maker could re-use the entire assembly? Anyone have a link to the ATF ruling, I read it ages ago but can't seem to locate it.
  5. Really? They're different documents? They're not the same document? I'll bet they were not written by the same peoples, in the same time, for the same reasons either. I'll bet one has nothing to do with the other, does it? I suspect when the DOI was adopted in 1776, the Revolutionary War was subsequently fought, and the Constitution was ratified in 1787 by the States, it does nothing but demonstrate an unassociated chain of events leading to "completely separate documents". Good grief... Yes, the Constitution as written remains neutral about deities, and besides being a princip
  6. Why do we tease ourselves... 10 rd, 15rd, 20 or 32rd drum... when is someone going to make a belt-feeder for god-sakes?
  7. The only thing you have to manage is the smoothbore. If you leave it a smoothbore, it will be an AOW. If you find a way to lightly rifle the bore, then you can claim it's rifled and it will be a handgun.
  8. I'd give my left testicle for one just like that, but that's about what it would cost me to move to a SBS state. LOL
  9. The "compactness" of a bullpup is nice, but I still can't stand the idea of my face resting on the chamber area of the whole thing. Perhaps if it were a pistol-cartridge or something, but not much more than that. I also think it would be cool if someone made one out of a single-stamping / sheet bend instead of attaching something to the front of a normal receiver.
  10. Don't quote me, but I think the ATF poo-poo'd the importation of Junker's/Yunker's air rifles some years ago because the receiver is the same as an AK's so they considered it a firearm. Ditto with the Makarov air-pistols - the pesky Rooskie's were insanely trying to use the same parts.

    410 ammo??

I'm paying $7/25 S&B No. 4 & 6 at the gunshows. Seems "ok" - would like to get around $5/ea myself.
  12. Wanna make something that's not an SBS.
  13. I'm looking to replace my S12's receiver. The internal rails are pretty S12 specific and generously spot-welded to the receiver. Is there a determined method of removing and salvaging the rails and/or receiver? I'm going to guess duplicating the rails may be easier in the end. Any advice? Thanks.
