  1. Two weeks before Christmas at my local sporting goods store $5.50/20 box Today, $6.99 20/box
  2. These are some damn good replies. I bought the Gunfixrs plug back in 09 I think. It was all over the board as the one to get mostly because it was one of the first out. I agree as to the MD Arms plug having a couple extra settings that I don't think I would use unless tested out in a controlled setting using measuring tools to determine optimal performance. Its a shotgun after all and the three settings afford me enough control over it to be satisfactory. Its nice to know that some of you are still repping the Gunfixr plug. After seeing so much about the V, I thought maybe everyone h
  3. Thanks for the replies, I haven't seen the Gunfixrs plug mentioned in a while. Everyone seems to recommend the v-plug and I'm not even sure Gunfixer still sells his. I am not changing the plug unless I go to the autoplug. The gun works thru all loads but doesn't eject far on the lightest loads and maybe three to four feet on slugs. The extractor and spring are ok also.
  4. I guess Barry and all other ousted politicos have fall back jobs then. I do tend to slightly agree with a higher IQ person getting bored with their job. I have a blue collar job(machinist/roll grinder at an aluminum rolling mill) and have an above average IQ. I decided I was too lazy to complete college after two years in the aerospace/mechanical engineering program. I sometimes get bored with the same monotonous thing day after day at work but all fields will have this. Turn over is going to happen in the workplace but no one should ever be discriminated against. I know others I work
  5. BAM!!! Case closed. This link should be a permanent sticky at the top. Thanks!
  6. Still using my Gunfixrs plug. Wondered how many of you still have one in use as I see alot of talk about the V-plug. Never have seen a thread on the performance comparison between the two. Only the V-plug offers one or two more settings over the Gunfixrs. Thinking about upgrading or gong with a Autoplug this year if it would benefit me. Already have the glassbolt with the MD Arms lite tappet Pauly sent me but would like a little more length on discharged shells. Bring forth the wisdom oh armed crusaders!
  7. Put me on a good dealer with in stock ammo. Without links of course and pm me if you need to. Everywhere I have looked is backordered and local store wants 5.50/20 box. Looking for 500+ quantity in Wolf or Tulsa. Much thanks, happy new year
  8. Huh? Divorce papers or walking into his own arrest? Edit: I guess I'm one of those young pricks (30) that you mentioned. Sorry about that, didn't see the rules that said old folks only. Hehehe
  9. Me. Had it shoot out, hit my toolbox and fall in the floor beside my lathe at work. Found it about two hours later coming back from lunch. Just happened to see it as I was walking up. Went to the bathroom to try installing it again so it didn't have far to fly the next time.
  10. galleryofguns.com /genie/default.aspx Always use this for local prices. Guns shows in North Alabama are a joke. Dealers there have prices jacked up and them being "experts" and older gentlemen while me being a "kid" at 31 isnt conducive to any haggling whatsoever. Next show I will go with the S12. Maybe someone will make me an offer in the 1500 range if they have them uncovered for 899. Haha!
  11. Verizon is my carrier, don't know if they have email isp. I may just use my fathers email or get him to add another email account to his. Thanks guys.
  12. Yes it is ar15.com. I understand them wanting to keep out trolls and spammers but reasonable people like myself need not apply. I just cannot justify having a computer with internet access when I have it on my phone. This would be just another unneeded bill in my household.
  13. I am trying to join a popular ar15 forum that has a subforum for a weapon I'm interested in buying. The info is good but I still would like to ask questions and make comments. When signing up, I'm told anonymous email services such as yahoo, gmail, hotmail are not allowed when entering my address. Problem is I only have my smartphone to connect to internet. I havent owned a computer in several years and have had yahoo mail even when I did own one. I also have gmail with my phone. So, am I shit outta luck? Seems most people I know have these services also. What can I do?
  14. I just bought a GSG522sd. Have not shot it yet. 22 round factory mag, 110 round drum available. Like the saiga 12, it needs some attention before its reliable.
  15. Ugh no, the GSG 522, as in German Sport Guns. Never even handled a Sig before. Everything I have read says they just made cosmetic changes to the ouside of the rifle. Nothing about production ceasing. Thus the name change from gsg5 to gsg522. Also the conversation kit takes it back to an mp5 look alike(sorta). Please tell me where you see them shutting down production.
  16. I have been researching the GSG 522 and bit the bullet on one yesterday. Ordered the 522sd from a local dealer. Also went ahead and ordered the gsg5 conversion kit. Wanted to see who here owned one and get any tips you guys may have. There is a forum over at ar15.com that I've been reading bit didnt know any other places.
  17. Pauly, it was a problem before you received my parts(the spring was included). The bending of the spring corrected it. The polishing of the legs also helps. The pushing forward on the trigger would solve the problem. I was experiencing the exact problem the OP is having.
  18. Check the spring legs on the BHO side to see if it's sliding off toward the center of the reciever. I was having this problem after the conversion. All it takes is a slight bend toward the outside to alleviate.
  19. My factory five, 10 rd surefires, and md-20 all load fine on closed bolt with the Glassbolt system. I do not believe Pauly was aware of this until a couple months ago an added benefit-- I keep 000 buck for HD in mine with the bolt closed and do not suffer round deformation. Still do a weekly function test to be sure and no failure yet.
  20. I don't have pics to show but I hope this explains it well. I have a surplus steel magazine that broke yesterday. The outside reinforcement of the feed lip, about a 2 by 1 inch piece of metal, fell of while extracting. Looks to me that it was rivet welded onto the body in four places. Has this happened to anyone and what would be the best way to repair?
  21. I want to see video of this also. I wonder if it will be anything like those female S&W 500 head bangers. Hopefully you have strong arms. On a more serious note, you want to make sure a pistol grip is firmly attached to the weapon, ie. Use of grip nut, not the DIY guard. Not saying they are a weak link but anything to insure a potentially blinding metal to eye smack in case you ever think about actually using some sort of aiming apparatus. I could remove my Ace stock and pretty much have the same thing. Would I shoot it that way? Yes. Would it be practical? Meh.
  22. I understand that the new layout can take some time get the bugs worked out. I still cannot get the mobile version to work on my phone. I am using a Motorola Droid. The old style board was very simple to use when viewing from mobile. Now it only shows the full webpage and the "use mobile version" link is not working. Any other users encountering this? Can we get a mod or admin to clarify when it will be fixed? Thanks
  23. Wish the mobile format would come back. Now my screen takes forever to load on smartphone. Cannot get it to switch back to mobile.
