That's a place holder. I fabbed the grip out of 3/4"aluminum plate. I plan to drill it a bunch and then contour it, but at my house I only have a hand drill. So I taped the grips on there so that the 'square' edges don't dig into my hands for now.
15 minutes with a drill press and a few more with a belt sander should make it ready for public inspection.

thanks guys. I still need to stain and finish the stuff.
The bathroom is the only place in my house that my cameraphone will take a decent picture. (good lighting.)

Very nice. Better than factory.

Condensation? Show us more!

Nicest looking knick-knack hutch I have seen. I think you should put a couple nice pieces of china in there and put it by the dining table.
-
Let him be. That retarded insistence was meaningless 40 years ago.

I've been meaning to do this for a while now. Although I will probably only hack up the keep shoting 5, and keep the Izzy mags standard for the other gun.
Apparently you can melt on plastic shavings to build up magazines for a more permanent fusion. That factory take off stock is a good source.

Not sure if that is a complement, an insult or both??
It would certainly make more sense to just buy one. I am just pretty cash poor, so if it isn't in the budget it doesn't happen. I have been getting pretty tired of waiting to have this gun "done" so I am doing the parts I can from my apartment. So far shavings are vacuuming up alright.

Me too I hate the look and don't care for the feel. The plan is to make one out of beech wood stained to match. I will probably shape it somewhat like the Molot wood PG. However I have kicked around a few other shapes. The classic AK laminate handle is even worse than the Saw IMO.
It is a matter of finding wood and time. I need the part for compliance, and got this in trade. Doing this build was preconditioned on keeping inside a very strict budget. I am presently in Lawschool and living on loans that I want to be payed off ASAP. That requires some boring self control.

Is the knob from a bolt gun?
-
Nice. Did you make that?
-
Cool.
-
That is an awesome backdrop.
-
Would it be strong enough at the hinge point?
-
You always wanted one of those PGs? I do like how you finished the stains to match.
chair-- those are for sale at CSS.

Is that a rifle? Bolt shotgun with rifle scope?
If rifle, which states allow you to hunt turkey with a rifle? I always though a .22 and headshots would be a practical way to hunt, but it looks like you went up a level.
-
are you planning to hollow that out?
-
$99 including the charging handle? wow. you might just hurt my wallet yet.
-
Jeez. Your pics are going to make me flinch every time I shoot a pistol. Please tell me that all these guys were building their own ammo.
-
cool though.

That's a field commander hat pin. If you search ebay for something like "soviet enamel star" you will find lots. I've been looking at making cufflinks from a pair.
If you have extras I might want to buy a couple from you.
-
Is that a choke, or the end of the barrel? If this is a choke adapter and a muzzle compensator, I want one.
-
Did you make that?
The blades aren't my thing, but the compensator looks interesting.
-
I can see why people like those.

1) Planned. I have a thread for about half the work on this one already, and was going to cross link link in the thread you posted in too.
2) Actually it is. I the lower tang is actually countersunk for flush fit #10 machine screws, but I accidentally bought button head, so I used them for now. I will change them out and paint the ferule after I stain the wood.
