  1. I've been told that Arsenal Inc.'s new model, the SGL 31 If far superior to a converted Saiga 5.45 rifle. When I had asked how the SGL 31 would be superior to a converted Saiga, I was met with the response that the parts were of higher quality (being made in the US), and the overall conversion of said rifle was simply better assembled than a converted Saiga. So gentlemen, my question to you is; Is this just hype, or a well founded argument?
  2. Hey there Ryan, First off, sorry to hear about your divorce and I wish you the best of luck in the next following weeks. Secondly, I'm not able to manage an FTF trade with you unless you're planning on driving down to Orlando, FL anytime soon; however, I'd be more than willing to work through an FFL dealer in the area for that Remington Viper 22LR / Two Ten Round Mags / Tasco Silver Antler Scope. I'd be fine with paying toward the shipping and FFL transfer fees if you are willing/can't find someone to FTF trade with. Again, best of luck in your future, Austin
  3. Billery Hm, Michelle? She's at least louder then most guns.
  4. BobAsh's photos were from a show called firefly. They used a heavily modified version of an S12 to represent one of the main character's treasured firearms... the S12's name was Vera
  5. Yes, that's right the CBP (U.S. Customs & Border Protection) is trying to pass a federal ban on folding knives. Any knife that you have the ability to open with one hand will now be classified as a Switchblade and made illegal. Legislation is stated to outlaw all assisted opening knives, but also branches out to any knife that can be manually opened with one hand- including utility knives! The link below is to a video on youtube where you can copy and paste a letter to send to to your congressmen and state representatives. The only thing you have to do is personalize the first paragra
  6. I'll take it... my wallet is yelling at me though, lol. PM shall be sent in 5.
  7. Give me a day to see if I can gather the funds... Fluid, why must you post such a tempting offer after I just bought a s-12 less than 5 days ago?
  8. the 19" S-12 has been purchased from the internet peoples for $550, and so the floodgates have been unleashed. Wish me luck gentlemen, and thanks for all the advice again.
  9. oh, one last question for you all; Barrel length. I know it comes with a 19' or 24' barrel, but which do you prefer? Lol, I'm probably going to be told to buy both... I know I want to.
  10. Great advice guys, and thanks for the massive amounts of help and input. I'm going for the S-12 at the moment; just waiting for the right price. I'll post pics after conversion- so now the next question. Should I donate my Kidney, or bone marrow for conversion funds ?
  11. I love how he starts off relatively calm, and ends up getting progressivly crazier. Best line; "you've put us out of work, stolen our pensions, so we found a new job. It's called chewin' chewin' gun and kickin' butt, and guess what? I'm about on my last piece of chewin' gun..." Also, he's in a garage. I'm just imagining neighbors walking by slowly listening to the sound of a man screaming behind a thin garage door XD
  12. Also, is $500 (shipping paid by seller) a good deal on a S-12 with about 50 rounds through it? What would be a decent pricing on the 308- Prices on GB are set from 550-800; is this a little too much?
  13. Alright, being the new guy I'll give you guys a tidbit about myself. Salmonking is actually a name derived years ago from the game, Halo. In creating a character, I chose to adorn him with pink/'Salmon' colored armor to: 1) to emasculate my friends, and 2) not blend in in the slightest. Because I possess an ego, the word 'king' came to mind. Voila; the name Salmonking was born. It had a ring to it, so it's been used for pretty much every online site I've created since. Now that a dorky light has been cast upon me, I've got to nominate Bounce for the craziest name origin that I've
  14. Thanks for all the help guys. I think I'll just have to accept that I'll be buying both in due time, lol. A few other approaches though; Concerning ammo, I've found a couple different sites online that sell bulk 308 ammo for relatively cheap (wolf being one of them, a low grain-age practice ammo being the other http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?a=502766&kwtid=294379) Has anyone had experience with this lower grained ammo? It says the effective range is out to 320 yards and I'd be going around 50-100, though you have to self cycle. Concerning the S-12, DOXtheOX bro
  15. Hello all, I'm new to the forum, and plan to be purchasing my first rifle soon. The dilemma? I don't know which model of saiga to go with. Whatever model I do go with will be fully converted will according to 922 ® requirements, but I have a question about the purpose and Philosophy of Use, or POU, between the rifle and shotgun Saigas. I intend to use the rifle/shotgun at ranges, and possibly while hunting; however, I am generally concerned about which model (rifle or shotgun) would be most effective in a "without rule of law" situation for home and possibly neighborhood defense/patrol
