  1. The entire setup is illegal. Someone removed the original Saiga trunion. That had the original serial # on it. They replaced it with a AMD65 trunion. If you unscrew the 6 screws and slide the trunion out of the reciever, then you have a reciever that doesn't have a serial # on it. Basically whoever bought the "kit" got screwed....
  2. Pictures suck, will get better later when wife brings the good camera back Saiga 223, Russian AK100 series Buttstock, K-var handguards, K-var pistol grip Modified for Bulgy/Polish mags Shown with a rare CLEAR Polish 30rd mag Yes, they is a REAL CAN on the end. YHM - Phantom 223 Threaded 1/2x28 Custom Made adaptor 24mm to 1/2x28
  3. On the 2 saiga conversions I have done, they both use AK74 2-rivet guides. Both of the trunions were modified to accept UNMODIFIED 5.56 bulgy/Polish magazines. Some of you only have 1 5.56 AK so it doesn't matter if you modify the magazine. Also I have 50 or 60 5.56 Polish/Bulgarian 5.56 mags. More chance of screwing up atleast 1 mag when converting them. I have several 5.56 AK's. I have a SAM-5 which uses the unmodified Bulgy/Polish mags. I have a SAR-3 that uses ALL 5.56 mags. I haven't found a 5.56 AK mag that didn't work with it. I had to modify the center support rivet so
  4. I got a full size that just got finished but the BHO spring got lost. I will post those when I get the part in later next week.
  5. I hate to tell you this, but if you got the 5 mil to buy the gun, you sure as hell got enough money to buy the correct ammo. As a individual, that would be $200 per shot for the TAX and whatever the round itself cost. Hell, the NFA would hate you. I could hear them now.... "Mr Jone must of gone to the range again this weekend. There is a 10 page fax with a list of 'destructive' devices that must be removed from the registry." I think if I really had 5 mill to buy one, I would just get a 007 ffl with the SOT and build one. I could pay for 100 years worth of FFL/SOT fees and sti
  6. SHTF - 223/5.56 all the way. Regardless of the terrain (exception in wide open fields), you will want 223/5.56 (1) WALMART carries it, hell EVERY gun store carries it by the case most of the time. (2) 99 % of the Military/LEO use it, so ammo is availible (3) as stated above, round is light wieght so you can carry more I would NOT use a 5.45 gun for SHTF unless you planned on stocking ALOT of ammo. Yes, alot of places do carry 7.62x39, however it is not even 1/2 as plentiful as 223/5.56 is.
  7. i've got one. not sure what it is worth. Trade ya a NEW polish Plastic pistol grip (bakelite)???
  8. Had this for a while now...... Saiga 5.56 - Receiver, Bolt, Bolt carrier, front trunion, barrel, hammer Russian Rear trunion, buttstock, Pistol grip VMON upper handguard Bulgarian Police lower handgard (working flash light) The rest are bulgarian parts from a K-VAR kit Used a 2 rivet feedramp from a bulgarian sidefolder (russian trunion one) Takes unmodified Bulgarian or Polish mags The black mag is a Russian 45rd 5.56 mag. The clear mag shown in the last picture is a Polish Beryl 30rd mag

  10. I prefer to be refered to as visiting from GUNCO, thank you very much. I am a member over at gunsnet, ar15.com, kvars board, and several others. It is nice of you to remember me, must of left some sort of impression. Tapper, you are correct. But keep in mind that the ATF goes by how they read the laws, not on how you or I read the laws. Yes, you may win in court, but on the other hand you have lost already if you go to court. So to be safe, I prefer to not take any shortcuts. On my Saiga Krink, I moved the maker's mark and placed it on the bottom. I did this because I intend t
