    Rail rib sight

Well, again with this issue... I know, I know... it's already been beaten to death and still has got some kick left. I just don't know how to properly align it... Are the back "ears", or whatever you call them, supposed to be at the same height or higher than the bead in front? Or you could just answer this for me... are you or are you not supposed to see the rail in your view when aiming? I see the rail if the top bead is aligned to the rear. I thought the top of the bead and the rear (^ T ^) are supposed to be aligned as such since the bead is flat on top. Someone please cl
  2. Over in my neck of the woods you can shoot like 50 yards away from the road. I just love rifled slugs. They should probably do some psychological tests on him with a good expert psychologist... like a professor or something. Not one fat hick prison psychologist that went to Hawkeye two-year College for 7 years saying that Vang is a psycho. Plus, you can't execute people in Wisconsin... no death penalty... and I believe they don't kill people in Illinois anymore either. Well, people die in chicago and wisconsin everyday... but not from the death penalty.
  3. So I don't align the bead to the top of the ribs? Then why is it flat on top? That is weird... how do you align this thing properly?
  4. I for one agree with Bvamp; although I wasn't there and couldn't say exactly what happened I still know what kind of hicks dwell in wisconsin and I'm not too surprised they fucked with the wrong guy. I knew something like this would happen sooner or later. If some hick even pointed his gun at me while I was deer hunting I would say, "Watch your fucking muzzle." and if it continued after that one warning it would be open season.
  5. Okay, you guys refinish to make the gun look nice, right. Well, my saiga isn't my girlfriend... I didn't get it to show her off round town... I got her for her functions... well, I guess some people keep their girl's around for a similar reason. Will a saiga function any worse without touching the paint up? Mine's scratched up on the inside and out and if it doesn't do anything to the function of the gun, I see no reason to refinish it.
  6. I'm trying to get used to the stock sights. I was wondering if someone could answer this for me. Do you align the top of the bead (which is flat) with the tops of the rear? If I do that then I see the rail. Or do I lower the bead just enough so as not to see the rail in my view? I would think the bead is flat to align to the rear so it's like - ^ T ^ ( can see rail) instead of ^ z ^ (rail out of view).

    Calling Bvamp

Bvamp - Where would I get a wooden sport stock for my saiga like yours... I stuffed my black hollow one with russian newspapers.
  8. I want just one 5 round mag to have one extra for hunting. Where do I get the mag? I ordered one from rusmilitary without even knowing the price, I hope theirs isn't that expensive.
  9. I wonder how easy it is to install their ASD-M4 rear sight piece. Does it spin around at all? Do you need that tool they sell to adjust it horizontally when it isn't aligned? How easy is it to remove the rib sight rail.

    Rail Sight

The sight (rib sight rail) that came with mine seems simple enough... as long as it works. I don't care for it to be an AK sight, as long as it shoots where I aim; that's all that matters to me. I was thinking of getting the front and rear sights for it... but I have no idea how to take off the rib rail or how to install the rear notch sight that rusmilitary carries. Plus, rusmilitary sells the tool for horizontal adjustment, and it's more than the cost of the front barrel sight. Seems a bit fishy to me... I'll try this one out, if it doesn't work I'll be pissed... I would think the
  11. How much are their 5-round mags? They don't have a price listing so I just clicked on the buy online button for the 8-rounder and wrote down just one 5-round mag. They aren't going to charge me 8-rounder price for a 5-rounder are they? I bet 2 5-rounders are cheaper than one 8-rounder.

    Rail Sight

Okay, what is up with these sights. Are they not workable? I think it's strange to have a sight on a shotgun that doesn't work. I'll try it out nonetheless, but still... you buy a gun, you need to be able to aim it as it comes.

    Rail Sight

So, I won't be able to sight in the raised rib sight rail? What's a shotgun without a useable sight?

    Rail Sight

What do you mean by mount? I don't want a scope or anything of the like on my shotty... People get by with the sight rail, right. It's just deer hunting with a shotgun. I used to go with a little bb sight on the end of the barrel... this is at least a rifle sight. It should be fine, or do most people change theirs.

    Under water

Glocks can shoot underwater... this maybe for a different forum but I consider glocks the handgun AK's of the new age. They're simple and they work through just about anything. AK's can shoot underwater... they are amazing tools. Since a saiga-12 is pretty much an AKM-12... it should shoot underwater... The barrel is quite thick and the steel doesn't seem too bad either... I honestly thought the steel going through the factory now would be worse than for the 47's... I believed Tula used good steel since it's for the military. My opinion changed after getting the saiga. Besides, I w

    Rail Sight

Am I the only one with a rail sight on my saiga-12?

    Rail Sight

I'm wondering if people ever experience any problems with their rail sights. It seems a little, *cough* *cough*, cheap. That's okay though, as long as it works. I need this thing for some big game and big birds, or anyone in a yellow chicken outfit. It doesn't have to have pin point accuracy... just enough for deer or turkeys or something of that type. Am I going to have any problems with these?

    Under water

Kysoldier - yes I do have the rail sight... is it really that bad? I now know you meant the rifle sight... that's not what I have. Is the rail one accurate enough? Like for hunting?

    Under water

Kysoldier - by notch sight, do you mean the regular wheel adjustable sight over the gas chamber? That's what came with mine. It looks like a short little rail with a little brass bead at the outer end... I think I may have to just get used to it. Anyone experience any problems with it? Three points of aim is all you really need... the back (V), the front (bead), and the target (where you're shooting). Anyone remember Leathel Weapon 4? In the end Mel Gibson shoots Jet Li with an AK47 under water... unloads that thing, full auto, into Jet Li's torso. I know that an AK47 - 7.62 x 39 - c

    Under water

AK's, like the AK47, can shoot under water. Can the saiga-12 shoot under water? I'm also wondering how well the original sights shoot. It's not that bad is it? It can change elevation... I wonder how well they work out once you get used to them?
  21. I don't see why pistol grips are so much more comfortable than the sportier stock. Am I missing something? How much more expensive is the 12C as compared to the regular saiga-12? For hunting, I don't see much of a difference... maybe I just don't see it... please clarify. What sort of machine work will help me hit shoot better? I still stand by the "one shot kill" slogan. Which is the reason I don't care much about having just one mag for now. Can you use 8 round mags for hunting?

    Mags and bolt

Thanks GOB... the pin peaked out and didn't stick one bit... I wiped it and oiled it up nicely... the gun is oiled up and ready to go. I don't think I have to take apart the entire bolt... I mean, the pin doesn't stick... so it should be good. I'm really happy about this buy. If it wasn't for this forum, I probably wouldn't have bought it. I didn't take apart the gas port or the barrel... everything seems nice and clean... maybe a bit scratched up, but a few scratches never bothered me. As long as it works, I'm a happy man. Thanks to all you people... now I finally got myself a 12 g

    Mags and bolt

I tried with the mag, over and over again... all it did was scratch up the plastic on the top round. I guess more practice is needed. I don't care about the paint being scratched on the inside and outside... as long as it doesn't interfere with the workings of the gun... and as long as it doesn't rust up. My winchester uses some shitty steel because it rusts up easy as hell... and the finish isn't nearly as fecal orientated as the saiga. The barrel is so incredibly thin in the winchester, the saiga seems to use some good steel... so I guess I shouldn't worry much about rust.... I bou

    Mags and bolt

I've been looking everywhere for mags... I guess I gotta call up russia. The mid east doesn't even have those... they're so used to war that a hunting carbine (ie. 12 guage saiga) is unheard of in their parts. Russia would be a nice place to search next. This thing really uses the russian method of "beat it to shit" for it to work right. I guess the steel is good enough to last even with this fecal for finish they use. I found out the next round in the mag is what forces the used cartridge out. I installed the buffer, and got really used to putting this thing together. I have a
  25. Bvamp - Do you have the green or black buffer? The black one, it says, holds up better under full auto and bump firing. The green one is softer and absorbs more impact shock.
