  1. I think that the CheyTac is a great rifle and cartridge, but it is horribly overpriced. I think that Bushmaster may have done the same thing here with the new ACR. It might be great, but when you effectively eliminate 90% of your prospective purchasers because of price, then many us will never know. Just my thoughts.. Very true. The Intervention is incredibly overpriced. The ACR is a fraction of the cost, but still up there. I'm just wondering if it's worth it. Personally, $3,0000 is my limit for ONE firearm and it barely beats it. But if I had a bunch of dough burning in my

  3. So I've been doing a lot of research, and the ACR is shaping up to be an excellent firearm. Granted it's a little on the high-end in terms of price, but it's as simple and appears to be as rugged as an AK while apparently retaining M4 accuracy. What do you guys think? Is this another over-hyped product like the CheyTac Intervention?
  4. Bye bye, Thompson Auto-Ordnance Pit Bull. Though my policy is to never sell a gun, you are garbage that needs to be disposed of.

An unreliable gun is the last thing a person needs in a crisis situation... Good call.

Haha, yeah. This weekend it'll be some other person's liability.

  5. What a day. Been asleep almost the whole damn day and it still isn't over. It's just one of those days.

  6. I'm with you man. I got 1 handgun and 2 rifles in 4 weeks. The reason I only got 1 handgun is because Virginia has a 1 handgun per month law, though. I got a Saiga 7.62 at a great price plus it was about time I got an AK that is actually 7.62. I'm still waiting on the AR and I think it'll hold me over for a while. I actually thought I was good after I bought my pistol. But lo and behold, the Gun show came around this weekend. Now I have enough ammo to survive an apocalypse. Got another gun show coming up this weekend. Picking up my Ruger Super Blackhawk and maybe some other
  7. Nice! I changed my mind (for now at least, a wheel gun is still on the list). My next purchase is going to be a G19. I know I said I was just going to buy the 9mm conversion barrel for my G23.............but I figured I'd just get the G19 instead. Just put in an order for some mags for the gun I don't even have yet. "Hi. My name is Dan, and I am a gun-a-holic." Well, I've got the Ruger Super Blackhawk coming up, as well as a P-38 and maybe some other goodies. For your Glocks, I'd recommend the Hogue HandALL slip-on grip, really comfy. "Hi. My name is Josh, and like you, I to
  8. Dont forget the REAL Russian deal was NOT designed to shoot heavy ball either... SO if you DID buy a several thousand dollar rifle, you would be shooting the SAME EXACT AMMO you would out of the $500.00 PSL... ( And yes... they CAN be purchased new for less than $500.00 ) Yeah, I found that out as well after doing some more in-depth research. Then I suppose a PSL is a good addition to my family of guns as any. New for less than $500? Where'd you scope those out, Indy? I'd loooooove to know.
  9. As anyone is going to tell you Greg at Carolina Shooters Supply has the fastest shipping ever. I've ordered late Friday and received my order Monday and I pay standard shipping. Greg is and awesome owner and will take the time to answer any and all your questions. If or when you order from him I promise you will not be disappointed. What Ranger said. I've heard nothing but excellent things about CSS, which is why I went with them in the first place.
  10. Yeah, I'm gonna be picking up that dvd too. Just watched some shorts of it on youtube, fucking amazing.
  11. From personal experience with many Black & Decker tools, be it power tools or simple garden sheers, the experience has been less than desirable. I own a Dremel 4000 that I bought at Home Depot, and it's been worth every penny. Of course, these are just personal experiences, Black & Decker may work great for everyone else. For bits, you'll want a 3/16" drill bit, but don't settle for black oxide. You can use the grinding stone provided with the dremel to smooth the rivets down to allow for drilling out. You can use the sanding attachments to remove rust, and use the wire polishing a
  12. I found it, thanks ranger. I was looking in all the wrong places. Just placed my order, super excited to begin the process, hehe.
  13. See, that's the issue with the PSL is the battering problem with higher grain rounds. Why did I have to fall in love with the idea of owning a dragunov when I can't get the real russian deal?
  14. Alright, I've still got a few minutes to make up my mind while I search for the 5% discount code. I don't remember where it is!
  15. yes they were, but do to changes in design, cost and time to maufacture they went to stamped metal. Actually the original design was for a stamped receiver. Soviet manufacturing facilities were not set up to produce them in high quantities, so they substituted a milled receiver for the first issued rifles. Later, they changed to the cheaper original intention of using stamped receivers. The first ones were stamped, they milled some for a while but even for soviet standards it costs way to much. They would start with an 11 pound block of steel and through something like 12
  16. Here's my dilemma, Izzy makes the Russian variant, but they're apparently so rare here in the states, they go for thousands of dollars. I've already read too much about the Norinco version being relatively cheap with paint flaking off and stuff.
  17. Thanks, Al. Why do you suggest the retainer plate? Most others have recommended the shepherds crook.
  18. Looks good, Al, I may do a .308 after all.

  20. They have it in the store but not on the website?!!!!!!!! What?!!! </3 The nearest store is on the way up to Austin, and I never go up I-35 to Austin
  21. Well, after being lazy for a few months, I'm gonna crack down and get the parts for my conversion. So far I've got the following: -TimberSmith Wood-Stock Black Laminate set (Which I want to know, does this come with the pg nut, or will that be an extra part to order?) -Ak-47 gas tube -Angled trigger guard -Tromix trigger group with shepherd's crook -Lower handguard bracket Anything I'm missing? I've already got a bullet guide from dinzag to throw in, just been lazy. Looking forward to doing business with the folks at CSS, heard nothing but good things.
  22. Well, looks like I forgot to afterall, haha. Here it is.
  23. Thanks Al, I'll take a look. It would be more beneficial to go the with .308 due to ammo availability.
