I heard they banned the Hi-Lift belt fed due to it's non sporting configuration.

It's pretty loud even with muffs on and even though I was shooting under cover of trees it felt like most of the blast was going forward. I'll like to see what it's like when out in the open.

No not that one, but I was thinking of making one outta paracord and getting a magpul RSA. But in all honesty it's probably done at this point, it;s a range fun gun and I just built it to see if I could. Probably still make a 1 -2 point sling, it's not like it would cost too much and I certainly wouldn't have to tear anything apart.

Yeah I was able to put a few rounds through it, it ran fine til I got to some HSM factory reloads, then I had 2 jams. Live round stuck in the chamber. Had to break it down and pry the bolt back to get them out. After I ditched all the reloads it ran great.

Done.

The more I read about these things the more I find that there is nothing standard. People measure their bbls and come up with 11- 11.5- 12.25.... I'd like to think that some of them are not measuring correctly but it's looking like Dracos are just pieced together with whatever's laying on the shop floor at the end of a vodka soaked day. I still want one but now I'll be looking alot closer at what I get., Canted sights, bbl length, trunions.

Yeah after doing alot more reading the obvious answer is Draco. I don't need another built from the ground up pistol project. The AR pistol build has almost put me in the poor house.

Someone just posted a pic of an ace utra stock that they cut so short it folded behind the drum, but damn it had to have been cut down to 6". Check the pic thread or the gallery.

I had to with the two mag kits I got from them, but no more than I did with the MD drum, I just had to scrape with a sharp knife, really almost nothing. One thing I did notice luckily before I went ape shit on my drum is that the mag release pin had walked a little bit so the release was canted. Make sure the release pin is all the way in and the release is square before shaving anything from the mag body. But thats just my opinion.

Yep theres tons of information on getting these things to run great, start reading. I started with the small stuff and got mine to about 98% before I opened up the ports but not until I read this site from top to bottom. All the info is here.

Anyone have any links to home built pistols like a draco or krink or frankenAK pistols. already looking over at AR15. What would it involve if you bent up your own receiver and cut down a bbl and piston/bc. Just trying to get an idea after seeing Juggs FS krink parts post and that would be cool and all but thats alot of money for no receiver and no bbl. So has anybody just pieced together a pistol or is a draco really the cheapest easiest way that everyone goes. Thought it might be fun to explore a build idea or at least read some write ups.
