  1. Happy Birthday Marine.

  2. Never. There is nothing wrong with making stuff that serves no other purpose than than making you happy. Most of has have guns that we don't ever fire, but we keep them just because we like them.
  3. I vote S -.308. w/ 20 rd mag. If you are by your self it is not reasonable to believe that you will succeed defeating multiple threats at close range. Your better off giving the threat some problems to deal with at a distance. Exp. If you have a four guys coming at you and you take out one at a distance. They will probably stop and take care of that guy. If you take out one of the four at close range the rest will take care of you and then take care of their own. .308 is readily available non-corrosive ammo. 20 rnd mags are enough to give you a fighting chance. I would a choose the Kalashniko
  4. Success! My S-12 will finally cycle Wal-Mart low brass value packs!

      details man details...

  5. Good looking rifle. That butt-stock was an excellent choice.
  6. Did you by chance mean to say that you've a <I>'Vortex'</I> red dot, i.e. <I>StrikeFire</I> or <I>SPARC</I> with a doubler?<BR>I've the StrikeFire and I can't stand the doubler, talk about tiny FoV... It just sucks period... And I'm a fan <I>'Vortex'</I> products.<BR><BR>Your right on the spelling, I apologize. I agree that the doubler isn't much to brag about but it came with the optic. <BR><BR>Not to be picky but you started it, I think you meant "I've GOT the StikeFire".
  7. I vote for the red dot for the reasons you mentioned. I have a Vertex red dot with a doubler now but intend to get a second quick attach mount with a Redfield scope. I plan on switching optics when the situation requires, Anyone have any experience with this idea / system?
  8. Most lasers are a gimmick. Lasers can be can be useful when firing at close to medium range from a position that you cannot get behind the gun or when using night vision optics that don't allow you to see the sights. For most of us they are a gadget that looks cool on the gun.
  9. Definitely convert, you won't regret it. Just remember to address the safety issues with the .308. How do you like the Bushnell Red Dot scope. It looks good on there.
  10. I would go with the .308. It's nice to have the right tool for any job and it's sounds like your still missing your long range heavy hitter.
