Just so ya know that will require a bullet button in CA! If ya already knew that ...sorry for intruding...if ya didn't.....well....good luck on that one!
I voted brass because I reload! However after voting I realized that I shoot more steel than brass! I only have brass for the SHTF type stuff, (as in I cant get any wolf), Steel is the go to otherwise!
I would recommend Carolina Shooting Supplies, as well! I have only used them a few times, they ship items out fast(I am as far away as possible) and are very helpful with questions!
I have been getting 1-2MOA at 50yds and average 3MOA @ 100yds(some under but it is probably luck)! Using iron sights on my stock Saiga.
Edit:
BTW: my Saiga is a 1-2009 production with the step(no problems reloading though) and no signs of a threaded barrel!
I think this may be the key! I have close to 800 rounds through my stock Saiga ak without a single problem. Although it has been said it is not required, I clean after each range trip( I am a bit anal that way).
I didnt modify my firearm for the fact that I own more than one. I did it for the simple fact that now any magazine I pick up off the tground or shelf will work in it.
Can't argue with that logic!
I opted to modify the mags, due to the fact that the Saiga is the only AK I own. I agree though with the other posters that if you own multiple AK's then modifying the gun is a better option!
