  1. Currently waiting on .40S&W dies from Dillon. I think this is week six of the wait. The press shipped in two weeks but dies are 6-7 weeks unless they're .223 or .308- those are running 11 weeks out according to Dillon. What a tease! Finally got my .45ACP set and I've been rockin' the 550B ever since. Big John- I feel your pain. Got my Crossbreed right at the six week mark a couple months back. Worth it! Now I'm waiting on 3K primers from Natchez and once my primers get here, I'm good for awhile.
  2. Ok guys, Sunday May 26th. Hillside Shooting Sports. Be there! Range is open 12pm-6pm. $15/person/day. I'll be there at noon 'till whenever it quiets down or 6 o'clock, whichever comes first. Rifle range has lanes @50, 100, 200, 400, 600, & 1,000 yards. Dedicated 25yd steel pistol bay accommodates 3-5 shooters at a time (2 is fun, 3 is doable, 5 gets crowded). Multipurpose 25yd bay at the back will be hogged by yours truly unless they finish the shotgun bay at the front by then. I'll have 2 S12's, 2 or 3 1911's, a G23, and might break out the GP100. We might be joined by 3 guys from INS i
  3. Meah, I'm a Murrietta's guy myself. I'm grateful for the culinary experience I had out there (this boy can make some salsa!) but I'm also grateful my family left in '97. I sure do miss the food. Especially hot carrots!!! Nobody around here knows wtf I'm talking about when I start drooling all over myself.
  4. I understand this mentality but guns are my life. Indiana just repealed the prohibition of the use of a suppressor while hunting. I despise IN but if we keep making strides like this, I might be inclined to stay. My sister lives just outside of San Diego. I can't seem to get it through her head that it's just not worth it but we grew up there. She's too attached to the weather and culture. "It's not that bad where we're at," she tells me. To which I respond, "That's like being in a house that's on fire and saying.. but this room's ok!"Fuck that shit. Then you know as well as I do that ther

  6. I still have family out there, as does my girlfriend. I keep telling her that she needs to forget about the entire state- it's a lost cause. The bitch of it is: I have family in CA, NY, MI, and CO. All I need is family in FL & IL and a reunion would be the ultimate liberal pow-wow. I just don't understand how free-thinking people can stay there. So the weather is nice.. So the fuck what?? Ain't worth it. Burn it down and start over.
  7. Ok guys, I've got some targets made up and some ammo stockpiled. My girlfriend will be out of town for the next couple of weekends so I'll have some free time and an itchy finger. I've got 2-3 guys from INS that want to meet up as well. So what does everybody's schedule look like for the next couple of weekends? Sundays would work best for one of the other guys, I'm down for whenever, what say you?
  8. Still got my eyes out for the FNX, but Lima/Dupont?? Come on, man! We need somebody to get a place outside city limits! Do it for the team.
  9. 500 LSWC 200gr .45ACP, 250 TMJ 230gr .45ACP, 100 JSP .224, 1,000 Wolf SRP, 2lbs Red Dot. Gettin' to be slim pickin's around here...
  10. Pfft, I wish! Gf will be visiting family out West in a couple weeks. I will finally have time to get shit done! Speaking of which, who wants to hit the range in a couple weeks?? Rayne, you can shoot any guns I bring to your heart's content. Now that I've got the Dillon running, ammo won't break the bank!
  11. Excellent! Too bad nobody could come out today. The range was deserted. I popped off about 150 of my new reloads without a soul around. Good times.
  12. Yeah, screw it. I'm heading down to Hillside in about an hour. Who's down for a M&G?
  13. Wth, Max? You were at K&T and didn't stop by?! I keed, I keed. I checked them out when they first opened. They seemed nice enough but didn't have much in stock at the time. Jerry next door (Shooter's) used to be my go-to guy. He dropped the ball on a couple of more recent orders though. Well I'm about to run some .45ACP test loads and hit the hay. Off to pick up some boolits in the morning and plant the garden in the afternoon. Sunday looks wide open for now. Still toying with hitting the range soon. I'll get ahold of you guys before I go if I do.
  14. It's pricetags like those that make my shopping harder. When I see gouging, I walk the hell out. I had to pass on a bunch of stuff at the last gunshow because of it. I'd find a decent deal on something and then I'd see a Pmag for $40. Nope, you don't get my business.
  15. I had a bad experience buying from them. Haven't been back. I'm glad your experience went well though, Rayne. So I take it you sent just the internals to Pauly and duracoated the rest in the meantime?
  16. Ted? Don't know his last name. Off of Washington Ctr. and Huguenard. Never dealt with him before but one of my bosses swears by him.
  17. I was kicking around the idea of hitting the range Sunday, but that depends on whether or not I can locate more bullets on Saturday. I'm planning on checking out the inventory of a local guy who casts and sells bullets and supposedly has other reloading supplies as well. I just finished my first 200 reloads and I don't wanna burn them up until I restock. I'd be down for a shoot either way; I just might run out sooner than I'd like. Birdshot, I've got for days. Anything else.. Not so much. I'll keep checking this thread though. If anybody's jonesing for trigger time, I'll be there.
  18. 6 Pmags (just because I could), Lee universal depriming die, .223 die set, 4lbs of Power Pistol, 1lb of Red Dot, 200 FMJ 185gr .45ACP bullets, 500 LSWC .45ACP bullets, 505 LFP 180gr .40S&W bullets, 2,000 primers (getting hard to find anything but magnums), 3 Dillon caliber conversion kits, .45 & .40/10mm Dillon dies, "Eliminator" scale, impact bullet puller, Starrett dial calipers, Frankford digital scale (for quick checks), case wall micrometer, RCBS case length trimmer, deburring tool, primer pocket cleaner, Lyman & Hornady manuals, and loadbooks out the ass. I've been a busy
  19. I finally ran out of random junk after like four months of brutal destruction. I was almost sad when I realized it was all over. The destruction, I mean.
  20. Ok, went for variety. So far I've got Phil here and a bunny on all-fours about halfway done. Still working on one more of each of those and two running bunnies. Now I've just gotta figure out what I did with that brown spray paint...
  21. Finished my first target today. Good Gawd, this shit is tedious. I'll post pics when I get home. It's a shame I left this house: http://www.forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?/topic/79783-stress-relief-saiga-style/ Lulz were had there. In town now, so wanton destruction is kinda frowned upon.
  22. You have everything you need tool-wise for your conversion? I don't have shit for workspace at this house, but I've still got all my tools. Well Hillside is open again but they don't have much in the way of shotgun targets. I'm going to try to get about 5 little steel knock-down bunnies made up this week. AR235 oughtta be hard enough for lead shot, yeah?
  23. Tomato worms!?! Go to plan B: Seriously hate those friggin' things.
  24. Blossom end rot is what you call the brown, mushy rot that forms on the bottoms of tomatoes, peppers, and I've seen it on cucumbers too. It starts right where the flower used to be and is usually hard to spot until you go to pick them and get a handful of rotten mush instead of fresh food. Most plant foods (like Miraclegro or Shultz) should cure it but not always as I'm learning. A quick tip when you plant- modern (indeterminate) tomato varieties were bred from a vine (determinate) form of plant. Ever notice that tomato plants start growing little roots on the stems part-way through the ye
  25. Danger, Will Robinson! I'm kinda smack in the middle of New Haven. Probably 10 miles or so away. PM inbound.
