  1. I apologize if you already know this but to be specific: you need to make sure it is 922 r compliant. Buying a Saiga-12 magazine is a good start for this as this gives you 3 of the 10 Amercian made parts you need to make it compliant with 922 r meaning that only 10 imported parts are allowed if you intend to make the shotgun other than a sportsman mode (i.e. you intend to put "evil" features on your Saiga-12. Here is a good url that can help you if you haven't already found one like it: http://home.comcast..../home/922r.html As for conversion, if you do this then all
  2. Absolutely! Both my Saiga-12s would blow, clean off, the head of any zombie or other living miscreants that should have the stupidity to attack. Yuh just gotta pay attention to the gas plug position! Then it works fine!
  3. What did you use to x-ray them? With medical, geological or somethin' else?
  4. Please chill. You used to be quite abrasive yourself (as was I) before you realized it was bad for business. I like the idea of giving people a chance to modify their behavior before any heads roll. I have a feeling that's the purpose of this thread, not to crusade against or to alienate anyone, but to state a message. That is absolute DEAD ON! You are 100% correct Pauly! As a non-moderator I was offended by a moderator shutting down a thread for apparently no reason other than he didn't like it! That is MOST DEFINTELY bad for business. I didn't come back for a month and I
  5. I did not know that thanks for the great input Pauly!
  6. Just another reason NOT to vote for Romney! However, the 20 round drum IS legal to own in California as long as it is modified to be limited to only 10 rounds. I suggest that your read your own laws carefully before you write off the drum. It may simply be necessary to limit it to 10 rounds, or less, as is required in the Socialist Republic of California. It is worth a look certainly. If not....well then that sucks.
  7. This is a test: Was this thread actually locked? Just because you can lock a thread doesn't mean you should-ever. It pisses everybody off. Well I guess it wasn't locked. Good. That's encouraging. Now Socom688, I am not surprised about what you siad about the Commander. It is a damn fine gun. Glad to hear you have a CCW.. It should be an absolute right to carry. Afterall self-defense is a moral right. I will say, too, that this thread was and is an excellent question, the more details of the law, and the ins and outs you know the better off you are. Out here in Cali the Cali
  8. You are probably correct. But then again, a lot of things I thought were illegal actually were legal. Case in point, my Thompson semiautos which I was told by most of the FFLs' in my area were on the banned list. The Thompson was not and I had to prove to one FFL that it was legal and then I bought two. I should point out that US corporations are permitted to own SMGs' and use them on their security teams. I don't know the details of this however. But even California, the dreaded anitgun state, allows this.
  9. No offense meant brother. Just trying to be helpful. I gotta say though, your Commander is a fine weapon and is also a solid plateform to use for CCW. If you don't already have a CCW look up this site: http://apps.carryconcealed.net/legal/florida-ccw-state-laws.php
  10. Not to put too fine a point on it, but I actually have a CCW and in, gasp, California. Not that it is a big deal. But the laws here require that the CCW firearm be a handgun-either a pistol or revolver. I am probably right in assuming it is a similar requirement in all the other states. Assuming your autoweapon is actually in a handgun configuration then you just MIGHT be good to go. However, I gotta put in with the guys above and say your probably asking for serious trouble if you should ever need to spray it. A stint in jail for collateral damage manslaughter would not be fun and it wo
  11. Probably, but I haven't heard of Centurion. I assume it is buckshot in which case you should have it on setting 1- the more limited setting. Too much gas (setting 2) will throw back your bolt with enough force to cause damage. Unfortunately the operators manual Izhmash sends is a poor guide. The short photo guide given at the start of this thread is excellent and is dead on. Learn it. Use it.
  12. Well now, here's solid advice for you, even if it is me giving it: KEEP THE SAIGA-12. Assuming it is legal to have a large cap mag where your at, you might learn to pour plastic resin and MAKE your own. What a great DIY to try. Use your mag to design and carve wood parts to make them longer. Then make your mold (plenty of online tutorials here) and pour both halves of your expanded mag. Of course you may have to do the same for the follower and such. The spring is doable too, but you'll definitely have a lot to learn. That was fun for a few seconds, but seriously-did you try finding a
  13. Good idea. Maybe even some JB Weld. I've used JB Weld to repair both my S12 and Thompson 45 acp mags. Best thing is JBW can then be gradually sanded down to the right diameter.

    Howdy Ya'll

Welcome aboard. Do not beleive those that tell you to run 100s of rounds of high brass ammo. It is a waste of time and money. There is no substitute for metalworking/gunsmithing. Ask and you shall receive answers. Where are you? It helps to show where you are because you might actually have someone nearby to go to the range with and help you with your weapon. Howdy Ya'll Thanks for the warm welcome. I am a school teacher (I know you might be shocked) here in Lawton, Oklahoma. After some initial frustration, from the FTF and FTE of my S12, I thought it might be a good project gun to lear
