  1. nothing would happen. planes would stay in the sky, and the sun would rise again in the morning. Heavily armed men running scared over whether their masters approve of the origin of their stock or not. Disgusting. Based on this list I'm only compliant because I happen to like K-Var's black plastic. If I ever desire Russian wood it will go on without a second thought.
  2. So if I'm reading this correctly, a 21 pound spring would be required if per say. Your gun is over gassed, and the carrier is contacting the rear turnion with enough force to peen it.
  3. How bad is the contact with the trunion? Is it actually causing deformation, because the two Saiga-12's I have in addition to this one, make contact to the point that there is a surface print, but does not cause any dammage to the trunion itself. Also, one of these guns was SBS's to 16' and is overgassed to the point that it runs low brass on #1 and clogs itself up with a plastick shit biscuit in as little as 150 rounds. So far, all I've seen is where the print has gone through the paint but there is no damage. I plan to send this gun back for a new barrel, but even though it's as badly over g
  4. That bad? So what am I do to to alleviate this condition? MD arms gas plug?
  5. I've got a 2011 Legion gun with 4 ports, plastic thread protector/muzzle nut, 11 in the SN# and 11 on the side of the receiver. 250 rounds in I've got peening on my rear Trunion, and carrier. Been running it on 1 with high brass bird shot, took it out today and ran it on two with Wally world special #8. I don't recall seeing the peening before today, so I'm guessing I've got an over gassed shotgun. I'd rather have two ports, and be forced to run hot loads than have 4 and a gun that beats it's self to death.
  6. On an AK pattern rifle it's referred to as the muzzle nut. Seeing as the Saiga-12 is just an over sized AK variant asking for a factory "muzzle nut" seemed appropriate. Does the factory thread protector not invoke images of the old AK-47 muzzle nut for you?
  7. Promag has some excellent magazines on the market. Their steel Mini-14 20 rounders are basically Ruger OEM mags with a promag stamp. Identical welds, construction, locking tab. Their 9mm polymer AR-15 SMG magazines are great too, ran nothing but them for a few years when colt 9mm mags were too expensive. I'm actually looking at buying some of their Saiga 10 rounders as we speak. It's a well kept secret that promag makes some really good stuff.
  8. Yeah, let's half ass it, why not? We don't take pride in a job well done in Amerika anymore do we comrade? There's a reason the world has progressed beyond using "vintage" military firearms. Some of us are content using Russian 5, and 8 rounders. For people like me, the whole balance argument is hardly a moot point. Ergonomics are vastly improved too when you convert it back into it's intended form, but by all means keep living in the 20s. You know, when Ergonomics were "good" if you had an "English" stock made out of crude materials. The second amendment
  9. I'm in New Mexico. Whoever told you that is feeding you bullshit.
  10. Bolting on a pre-made pistol grip stock to a Saiga-12 is hands down the most bubba' thing you can do to the poor gun. I see a lot of guys at gun shows trying to pawn off their Tapco abortions for the price of a Tromix converted S-12. One of those morons insulted me when he claimed that it was beyond my "skill level" to convert one properly, and that not even he a "Marine Corps armourer" could do it. As if it wasn't insult enough that he was trying to extort 1,200 dollars out of me for a 650 dollar shotgun with some bolt on redneck kit he has to go and call me a ninny to boot. Such a
  11. Unfortunately, that's a locking nut. not a thread protector/ muzzle nut. I'm after the device sitting on the front of this ^ gun. Bog standard factory metal muzzle nut.
  12. Hi everyone, I'm looking for the older style metal barrel nut that comes on most Saiga-12s new from the factory, any ideas as to where I might find one? I just bought a Legion S-12, and I'm in the process of restoring it, and I absolutely despise the "home depot special" plastic nut they put on the gun. I don't want a mall-ninja, or Elmer Fudd attachment for the end of my gun, I want the basic metal barrel nut. But thanks for the suggestion in advance.
