  1. Thanks for the post Jim! That's some informative stuff. I'm on the site right now mosying my way to find the right part. It's always a good idea to have spares laying around (I just skimmed for a few minutes and I cant find a 10/32 with the correct head size or one with the little stub at the end... but I'll keep looking.) RAAC didnt mention anything about drilling or tapping the threads in the lower receiver. They just said to oil the detent before screwing it in
  2. I like you, Guy. I kill you last *thumbs up* by all means if you two loons are ever in my part of the woods, we (and our 1919s) can have a Mexican standoff with a few watermelons and water jugs
  3. I didnt need to remove it in order to cut the lower receiver to add a stock adapter It balances fine even with the BHO on Then again, the cut on my receiver wasnt exactly precise and clean lol Good luck
  4. Haha yeah, I had a lot more patience when I was lubricated with some alcohol. It just took patience and voila And wow, I didn't even think about bastardizing a mag and joining them together. I might just do that to my extremely damaged mag (its feed lips are all sorts of messed up)... hmmmmmmm How well does that mag run?
  5. Nah, it's fine. I dont want to risk damaging anything else. I spoke to RAAC this morning and those guys are very understanding. Theyre sending me another screw and hopefully it'll be here by Friday. But yes, you guys are right. They suggested spraying it with lube or oil to make the process smoother. Oh and Hajk, I screwed it in as far as it possibly could go without any significant force and it still stuck out of the lower receiver a bit. I kept checking the safety to see if it "set it" but it seems I'll have to completely screw the detent spring in for it to catch the safety with its
  6. I like you, Guy. I kill you last *thumbs up*
  7. Sweet deal. Even though I have had a HORRIBLE experience with the magazine's feeding lips, if these mags are affordable I'll take the dive Also, I'm sure having these magazines imported wont be illegal, its USING them thats another issue. Wont our 1919s have to be 922r compliant to run them? I'm already squared with 922r compliance, I'm just saying
  8. lol not everyone reads EVERY thread figured it was helpful info My baaaaaaaaad
  9. Disappointing. I either wanted all metal magazines (but I've so far had negative experiences with the turk factory 5 rounders feed lips bending or being damaged) or all polymer mags with polymer feed lips. But, if its like more than half the cost of FB 10 rounders, why not? Especially if they work
  10. current gen spring detent Unfortunately... D'OH. Gotta wait until monday to order another one, then wait prolly another week for it to arrive. Oh BOY Why must life hate me so?
  11. shit tier mka 1919 replacement spring detent: Pic of 922r compliant fcg replacement parts Hammer on left is the new us made one available on CSS Trigger group on left is the tromix trigger Thanks for the guide, installing the fcg was actually a lot easier than I imagined, especially with step by step pics ...unfortunately... ... ... As always, something has to go wrong. The 1919 spring detent replacement RAAC sent me got stripped pretty easily. I used the same "eyeglasses" screwdriver with the old spring detent and had no stripping. Guess I have to wait a
  12. me and that ring had an epic battle that lasted 20 minutes pliers, pinched fingers, and 6 beers later, I arose victorious Also, nice 1919 setup
  13. Well I was impatient and ordered it anyways this morning hah This will be like my 4th or 5th order from Carolina Shooters Supply this month. Theyre quickly growing on me. Fast shipping and great customer service.
  14. Yup. As far as I know, a replacement hammer (being nearly identical to the factory one) really wouldnt aid in light strike issues and is for 922r compliance. I imagine you'd have to deal with the actual firing pin for such issues. However, I've been hearing that the replacement firebird fire control group (that uses AR-15 parts) is a different matter altogether. Talk to Jim or Nanci at Firebird and ask them if their FCG helps with light strike issues? If worse comes to worse, contact RAAC. Other than their crappy business hours, they have been an absolute pleasure to work with.
  15. Capitalism at its finest Glad to see more companies taking the dive and making mka 1919 products Gonna buy this on thursday when I get paid...hopefully its in stock then
  16. You're the man. If I manage to go full retard, Syndicate was kind enough to be willing to put up with my shenanigans via a webcam step by step haha
  17. i fixed this on both of mine. one of them wouldn't hold the bolt unless the empty mag was installed. field strip and look, your BHO is probably hitting one side of you upper. i just used a file and made a clearance cut now it can engage bolt face by about 1/4 inch. luckily for me, my BHO works more often than not... but I wonder what SPECIFICALLY would be bending the lips like that? My other mags worked fine but I can see some "chipping" on their lips too.
  18. So that's the current "spring detent" in 1919s, huh? Thats a one piece that holds the satefy in eh? Seems a lot simpler than the one that came with mine. I guess thats whats coming in the mail for me soon (and a fresh mag ) I wonder what else they replaced in current gen 1919s? Also, your cut for the stock conversion looks very clean as it is I'll have to sand mine down more significantly but Im worried about overdoing it
  19. The magazine's lips were defective or something My 3 inch magazine and my other 2 3/4 mag work just fine. I mean the paint is scratched off from the bolt extracting shells, but this was the only magazine that its lips bent inward.
  20. RAAC is awesome at one thing... replacing stuff for free Yup, all free. Shipping and everything They also suggested to dremel the defective mag lips until it works again and use it as a spare mag lol. Those guys at RAAC know whats up
  21. Luckily for you, FB handguards should be available this month ....fffffffffffff.... dat forend screw
  22. Yeah, I'm looking forward to some quality American made mags. Not impressed with this Turkish "quality" (After about 20 rounds, this 2 3/4 inch magazine holding 1200fps 00buck had its feed lips bend inwards. Not kosher at all)
