Well I started off thinking about the saigas with stepped chambers and whether or not the cutout section was chrome lined. Then I started thinking about sand and metal shavings in the chamber and scratching it up. Sorry.... used to be an AR guy and what turned me off to them was that I bought a RRA Ar15 with the extended feed ramps dremeled in by RRA. How thick is the chrome lining on saiga barrels? Being from Texas things can get very sand filled and dusty? Wouldnt a bit of sand eventually scratch the chrome in the chamber and barrel? And wouldn't steel cased ammo scratch the chamber as well? Just wondering....not really concerned

What optic is this? . I heard about a Russian optic that comparable to an ACOG. Is this it? What other good acog/eotech/aimpoint type Russian optics are out there? It's been about 6 years since ice bought a Russian optic and I'm sure things have changed alot. Thanks!

Ive seen it done with a norinco hunter. It's similar to a unconverted saiga except with a milled receiver. So I'm sure it can be done

We had several tabbaco shops here in Texas raided by the ATF and FBI because of rumors they were selling Mary Jane as well. They confiscated everything but found nothing. here in the ultra conservative parts of Texas mentoning marijuana is like talking about weapons of mass destruction. I've seen several bill boards around recently saying "marijuana kills!" with a picture of a sad teen haha. Last time I checked you can't die from marijuana but alcohol on the otherhand. So ive been reading up on these two calibers and it seems that alot of people agree that the 5.56 has a greater velocity and that fragmentation is better than tumbling. I've heard that the 5.56 had a greater velocity because the case can hold more powder. Why doesn't someone just neck down a 5.56 casing to 5.45 and maybe cut some grooves around the side of the bullet so that it fragments once it tumbles? Well I was reading up on sbr rules on the ATF website and the other forum that shall not be named and they gave some basic info. But I don't recall seeing anything about a 4473 and the "individual" thing has me a little confused. I don't even have a unpaid parking ticket or any misdemeanors and I live in the heart of Texas. So I don't think an sbr would be an issue. I just don't know anything about the most painless and efficient way to do it

Another question I have about SARs. I've seen more than person say that theyre made from the rejected out of spec parts of several factories. There's no way that can be true right? Just an Internet rumor maybe?

Who is eligible for applying for an sbr? I know you have to 21 and over and have a clean record...check on those. But are you allowed to live in say an apartment? Or do you have to own a home? Is there anyother things that might stop you from getting approval for an sbr?

Ya I was going to go the brick and mortar route but I ended getting scammed from day 1. Marshhawkarms AKA "AK47.org" took my money over 3 months ago for a 80% receiver and some rivets and since then they havnt responded to any attempts to contact them. Since then I've been wanting to just buy a complete rifle since I'm sure the web is full of parts scammers like AK47.org

Ya I saw that earlier today. The one I saw only comes with 2 mags. 550 is the out the door price. Ya no joke. My town is filled with gunshops. And not a single one has a cheap saiga or many AKs in general. I remember when they were filled with nothing but saigas...other AKs and AR15s at a decent price. Now they're just filled with bolt guns and way overpriced AR15s. They do have other exotics.... But waaayyy overpriced. So I found a Sar-2 in like new condition. What's the going price for an Sar-2 these days? How does the Sar-2 stack up against other 5.45 AKs?

I think I can answer number 2. If you look at the Amd-65 the gas port is really close to the muzzle. I remember reading somewhere that it's able to cycle because of the special muzzle device they designed for it. It's called a "booster" and I guess it somehow creates enough pressure to cycle it. I'm not too sure if a regular flash hider would work or not.

Wow ya that's it. When I was reading about it years ago they only had a CAD drawing of it. Its a shame magpul pulled the plug. I guess they wanted to invest all their money into the Masada lol
