  1. Thanks folks, it worked like a champ
  2. OK thanks, my new handguards are plastic, I guess it will all work the same way. I'll give it a go this afternoon!
  3. I got Dinzags lower connector and an upper gas tube from KVAR but how do I get the upper handguard between the front and rear "reatiner/clamps" on the upper gas tube? Do I try to line it up upside down and turn it? I think it will break!
  4. Hi I recently started thinking about the front end of my saiga and don't have a clue about what to put on it. Can someone explain why I would need a muzzle brake? As I understand it they work great on auto rifles, but do they really help on a semi-auto? Why do some people put flash hider on the rifle? Are they used mainly to protect the crown? Thanks for any advice...
  5. I ran across your picture and was pondering that but Dinzag sent me a message. He said he will replace the kit with one that fits and I will send him back the one that I have. Talk about great service!
  6. Those instructions don't show the actual guide I have installed. If the short end goes under the barrel then I had it backwards, thanks Nalioth. Anyways the point is moot because when I was messing around with it I realized I have the rifle with the rivit hole already drilled (doh!). The rivit hole is bigger than the tap and hole in the guide. So I emailed Dinzag to see what I can do at this point. Thanks folks
  7. Hi i got dinzags guide for x39 flat trunion. Does the "shorter" end of it go toward the rear of the rifle? Thats what I am guessing but I can't find any pics of it installed and don't want to do it backwards. Thanks
  8. I am not impressed with these at all. I finally got to shoot a few hundred rounds through them. I had one FTF on every set while using brown bear hollow points. I never filed the mag lip, I filed down the catch on the rifle to get them to fit. The thing that upset me was that the front lip on one of the magazines sheared off, so the magazine will not lock into the rifle. Now if one of the mags goes bad after using it for 1 day, then it is just a matter of time before the other mag i have wears down. I'm getting a bullet guide and some metal mags.
  9. Well, I don't have a x39 Saiga and I don't have a 308 Saiga. But if I did have both Saigas I wouldn't worry anything about an unconstitutional 922R if I got pulled over by police. First off most of them don't know the law in the middle of Texas, and the ones that do, know it's BS. As far as i'm concerned, 922 is a tack-on crime, I'd have to do something bigger to get the charge in the first place.
  10. I hope when you say "only 200 are coming in" you mean in the first shipment.... I gotta get one of those
  11. Anyone know if it is against the law for a non-dealer to send a 10 or 30 round mag to NZ?
  12. I got two of these mags yesterday and dremeled the mag catch this morning. As I said in the other thread, these mags seem to chamber rounds just fine when I rack the slide with my hand. Unfortunately, I can't live fire for another week to test for sure. My rifle is a newer one (it says 06 by the sight rail, that the year?). Thanks much to whoever posted these mags. I probably am going to get 4 more next week! Thanks Cvasq!!
  13. Thanks for the pics - I dremeled mine this morning! Now, The AK mags are nice and tight, the Saiga original mag still fits (although a bit loose) and they both chamber rounds when I rack the slide with my hand. (It's raining so I can't go to the farm this weekend to test). Is there any reason I shouldn't use the original saiga mag also?
  14. I keep hearing about bore guides, are they really necessary?
  15. ok thanks all, Ill get the stamped warsaw one
