  1. I completely agree with you on all your points. But none of those have any affect on the ATF and their long history of abusing the little bit of power given them. They can still abuse it and affect what items and how those items, come into the country. The only bit of letter writing success we have seen lately is that the ATF tech branch now has to video all tests, and test samples as they are sent to them, not in the manner they choose to. That only took about 15 years to get fixed. I really wonder how they are going to abuse the new armour piercing tests on center fire ammo. I knew w
  2. Well there it is. Legal or not, they can and will do it on a whim. And in a nutshell, there is squat that anyone in the gun community can do about it. So we either live with it and work in their system until someone with the power to make them change it does so, or we live without it (all the things we want from overseas). But either way, what can you do about it in the short term? Nothing.
  3. They do have grounds to spank them, but not on the high-cap mag issue. It is about a trade agreement between the US and Russia about importing military weapons and accessories. They can also use the sporting purposes test to hang them up on the high cap mags. I am not debating the right or wrong of it, but those were the issues the ATF raised, not the mag capacity or AW law.

  5. I was told the ship left Russia last week, and it will be 28 days for them to get to RAA. That puts them in our hands by Thanksgiving. Debbie said they would be getting extra mags on the first shipment.
  6. Yes, several dealers are taking pre-orders. We have held off until we had a firm arrival date in the US, but now that we do we are taking orders from individuals and dealers alike. www.fbmginc.com
  7. We will sell to dealers and individuals both. All we need is an FFL... www.fbmginc.com
  8. Jake, we are interested as well. Could you send me some pics? james AT fbmginc.com
  9. We will be doing conversions as well. Rifles and shotguns to normal stocks and folding stocks. We will also be doing rails and new sights. All of our conversions will be duracoated for the final finish. We dont know yet if we will preform conversions for customers or just selling converted guns.
  10. I'm not pissed at all. He may have beaten me to the punch here (since I come by rarely at best anymore) but I put it out several other places already. The more the word gets out the better we will all be. I am not taking individual pre-orders, but we are taking dealer orders. They seem to understand delays better, and I dont need a bunch of individuals calling every few days asking where they are. But I was curious as to why they chose the vesions they did.
  11. RAA will not be bringing in the 8rd mags. They also did not get approval to bring in 30rd mags blocked to 10 rds. The ATF is really giving them fits right now. The ATF is also not letting them bring in the LEO guns right now. I am curious why TG only ordered the cheap versions. This is a "value added" country. Meaning that people will only buy the cheapest one if the one that suits their needs. I have been doing retail firearms or high end theater sales for nearly 12 years. Knowing your market and the customer base is one of the most important things for a retail business. We spent a LOT o
  12. TopGlock, you are not the only one selling the Saigas. We ordered almost 70 of them. But we are not taking money or advertising the guns until they are in the country, but that is not to say that we have not made this fact known to other dealers we work with. Having dealt with the Russians before on some other imports we have found it to be the best course of action. They may tell RAA that they have shipped, but that does not mean that they REALLY have shipped. We will be selling the fully loaded versions, as well as performing our own conversions to traditional atyles and advanced style
  13. They already have the approved form 6's in hand. All they have to wait for is ATF and Customs to go thru the shipment to make sure they have only what is on the permits. That could go quickly, or take quite a while depending on the mood of the inspectors.
  14. The end part of October the boat should arrive. Then it will be in the capable hands of the ATF.
  15. I go away for a while and come back to find that we are all one big happy family. To change the subject even more, we just placed our order with RAA will be a west coast wholesaler for the Saigas. We'll see how badly ATF and Customs screws up the delivery timeline.
  16. In the military, BLUE indicates a training unit. If the item is a real unit rendered inert, it will say inert on it. Yellow and black do indeed mean it was an HE unit. Where is the supposed hole in the firing mechanism supposed to go? The weapon is percussion fired up near the trigger. Then there is a shock tube that sends the charge back to the warheads rocket motor. That send the rocket down range. There is no firing circut on the launcher, only in the warhead. If you need more of these contact me, we have several that are no longer used as props. sales AT fbmginc.com
  17. In speaking with RAA and Robinson about this very thing, they are both very confident that they are not going to be affected. Both types of guns are in sporting configurations and while they could be turned into a non-sporting firearm, the importers can not control that issue. Both importers have been told in writing that the fully assembled weapons will not be affected by the new rulings, only kit guns. In speaking with Vectors office managers, they have been told the same thing. (They are going to continue to bring in kits with cut barrels but have already lined up a new US made barrel for t
  18. Thats it! Thanks man.
  19. It didn't come up and I couldn't find anything related to the Saiga on 37mm.com.
  20. So far it only affects parts kits. So CIA and Vector are screwed big time. As are the home builders. But the Saiga and Veprs are still good to go, for the moment.
  21. I am looking for the pic of the LEO Saiga that was up a while back. It is the one from Russia with the new mag well that has not been imported.
  22. SKSMAN is not the new importer. RAA is the new importer and have the signed agreements with the Russians to back up that claim. I bet sksman doesn't have squat. Email them and ask them how many they have and what quantities they require you to purchase to become a dealer. I bet they give you some BS reason why they are not opening dealers, if they reply at all.
  23. Yep, I have been talking to them for over a month now. They dont know what prices are going to be yet, and they dont know what is coming on the first shipment. Also, the opening buy for distributors is going to be 1000 guns. Yes, that is one THOUSAND.
  24. How do you mean? It is a great source of income if you can get in with a sutdio (we are working on that) and it is a LOT of fun. We partnered up with some local big time collectors and have a couple of really excellent military guys for techincal adviors. Most of them are demilled, like most of the DD's for instances but will look good enough on screen. Some are privately owned transferables, others are propane guns.
  25. Advanced Armament Systems is now FBMG. Please drop by and check us out. We have a good deal or surplus equipment and firearms as well as a consignment page with some good deals on it. We are always looking for feedback on our site, products and products you would like to see. Please drop us a line. http://www.fbmginc.com Thanks!
