  1. one never knows, till one shoots it... there is no surprise there... bullet shape, powder weight, type, charge, etc... overall length, etc... all variales that can affect POI changes. 3" and 6" seems a bit much... but if it groups well, adjust and go with that from now on.
  2. googling that I see them in the 420.00 and up... seems a lot better than this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/DODGE-9-25-CORPORATE-LIMITED-SLIP-DIFFERENTIAL-AXLE-OEM-/350482690040?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3ARam+1500&hash=item519a656ff8&vxp=mtr although I see some AUBURN GEAR ones in the mid 400 range... Again... I need to do a bit of research to figure out exactly what I have, to know exactly what I gotta get...
  3. unfortunately... all of the info my son got crawling under the truck did little for me... 52114222aa Is that THIS??? hexagon cover (12 bolt, 9.25" ring gear), 3.55 ratio ????
  4. I dont want one for any high performance deal... just to give me a LSD, not a true differential like I have now...
  5. I will have to figure out what my gear ratio is to begin with, I reckon... and go from there... I wonder if I have my VIN, if Chrysler can tell me exactly what rear is in the truck?
  6. Thanks for the info so far, guys... I appreciate that!!! I will be doing research and checking into it...
  7. As the title states... I have a regular differential in my new ram 1500 ( well, its new to me... its an '05... ) I want to replace it with a LIMITED SLIP rear differential.. AKA Posi-traction... so that BOTH rear tires are engaged, not just one, when the other breaks loose... My question is... should I just cough it up and BUY a new gear set for the rear, or should I try to find one at a junkyard? or??? I don't know much about it... as far as what mopar parts are available, or which aftermarket ones to consider... etc... All I know is I HATE the regular differential I have now...
  8. Did not inject. Salt, pepper, garlic powder, Apple juice spritzer, Heat, and Smoke. Thats all...
  9. I started with a full 13 pound brisket. IBP BEEF, USDA Choice... Got it home, opened the vacuum pack, put it on a cookie sheet, and rubbed it with about equal parts of salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Fired up the smoker, with a full chimney starter of lump charcoal ( I only use Malis Gourmet Lump Charcoal... link here to review : http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&ved=0CC4QFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nakedwhiz.com%2Flumpdatabase%2Flumpbag76.htm&ei=xghWUvOFE8_a4APPz4HwDw&usg=AFQjCNEdQJtgc1Q4MqSYWPaM49NW_dL6Sg&sig2=
  10. There's the crosscut image... this is a day and a half later, I nuked the slices for a minute and a half after taking them out of the fridge and slicing them off the main chunk.
  11. Nice!! I had an old mossberg 500, and a Baikal single shot that got FUCKED UP when beer spilled on them, and sat for a couple days... bluing TOTALLY GONE!!! they were fucked!!! Had the barrel and receiver of the baikal, and the barrel and mag tube of the mossy sandblasted, then POWDER COATED BLACK! they look like new, just like yours!!!! ( just black!) and HOPEFULLY will last a good long time!!!
  12. Pics of the crosscut sections to come tomorrow... I took a few TODAY when I was eating... had some slices on the plate... even a day later they still are amazingly juicy, and still tender, with just the right mix of texture, and squoosh... LOL Dunno how else to say it!!!
  13. EAT YOUR HEARTS OUT! 13 pounds of USDA choice brisket! over 13 hours in the smoker... constant attention... lots of hardwood hickory... and love!!! Smoky, super juicy, butter soft and fork tender... EVERYONE who had some... (and that was about ten different folks) claimed its the best they have ever tasted!!!
  14. i can ship all my questionable mags and rifles to myself C/O my father in Penn, totally legally... I would like to retain a few AK's in a shootable, yet NON REGISTERED and legal to posess should the safe act NOT be repealed... My AR's are non issues... back doors/loopholes for those are all set.
  15. Not sure how a gas plug would work on all the models of rifles... I suppose lead would be a " temporary" solution... so how about welding a ball bearing into the gas block??? a flat round disk welded into the gas block??? needs to be " permanent" .... but like we all know... reversible... with enough smithing... but not EASILY done...
  16. So... if I were to jam a dowel in the barrel and plug up THAT end of the gas port... and then pour molten lead into the gas block, from the bolt carrier end... filling the gas block completely with lead... then remove the dowel rod ... How would that work to " permanently modify" the Saiga to be a " Single Shot" rifle... requiring a racking of the bolt for EACH and EVERY shot... much like a " Bolt Action" rifle?!?!?!? What are your thoughts and opinions on this mod??? How about I weld a magazine to the receiver.... no longer DETACHABLE MAGAZINE CAPABLE... no longer an assault wea

  18. I would take the morphine injection... LOL But it had better be pretty strong stuff... Morphine typically doesn't do ANYTHING to me... Dilaudid on the other hand...
  19. They have had scale model jet engines for a long time for the " realism " RC model plane guys, way smaller than that one... Not saying its not impressive... That was pretty badass... just not really "new"...
  20. should be a full choke model... EAA import or earlier?? I have one like that... LOVE IT!!! ( cept someone borrowed it to hunt squirrels, and bulged the barrel EVER so slightly... ) wanna trade for an unfired, still wrapped, NIB 19" barrel with the threaded end??? Let me know!!
  21. We have something like that in place in NY now to track harvest numbers. I didnt read the whole article after reading the premise... it shouldnt be a big deal. just a few moments on the phone with a computer and some numbers. lets them know how many are actually taken so they can adjust harvest rates for the following season.
  22. I think the lesson here is *ALL OF IT* will eventually dry up... so prepare for it NOW!!!! no matter what you may think or feel...
