  1. Funny, I posted the EXACT same thing, but in reverse just the other day. I will trade you my warsaw for your nato. PM coming.
  2. Cool. I want one. Can you post your fax number so I can have my FFL fax you their info?
  3. Thanks Mike, I'll add that to my list of eventual gun mods. Looks like it will really help feeding be as reliable as possible.
  4. Nice to hear about the other side of reloading, and that's pretty much why I just save brass at the moment. I'd rather trade brass for already reloaded bullets, honestly. Thanks, MF
  5. Wow, you have elves? I hear they work cheap, and you don't have to worry about their immigrant status either.
  6. Definite serious stuff. Got it. So do you recommend NOT reloading 7.62 at all? Be very serious about this; there is brass and then there is brass. The quality of brass used to made a 50 cal. cartridge for a handgun will be much better than the brass used to make a 50 caliber round of military ammunition. Brass is expensive and military ammo is usually left where it falls after it is fired. Let's be honest, how many soldiers have the time or energy to pick up the fired brass after a "fire-fight". You have to be very careful when reloading and here is where headstamps com
  7. I guess I got jipped on the cleaning kit. There is a cleaning ROD in the front, but no kit. Underneath the rubber butt pad is just a long bolt that attaches the stock to the gun. (Century Yugo)
  8. What's funny about nalioth's post is that I just used a hammer today to adjust a rear sight on a 7.62x39 (non saiga) that was angled to the right. 20 or so whacks with the hammer and it is sitting straight as an arrow now. Once I get a front site adjustment tool, I can finally sight it in. (Although needle nose pliars and a hammer / punch *could* do the job on the front... )
  9. So nobody makes 7.62x39 in brass cases? Not that I want to reload any time soon, but I do save brass for the future.
  10. I'm not sure about reduced recoil, but I do notice less muzzle climb with the shark brake. Buckshot patterns fine. Haven't tested birdshot yet.
  11. Thanks for those pics, Tony. Definitely quite a bit lower profile bolt! Looks like a job for the dremel. REOIV: I don't think shaving the bolt will have much effect on top round deforming. It looks like a lot of material is off (and it is) but in reality probably won't change the compression on that top round much. The EASIEST fix for top round deforming over time is to just load a 10 round mag with bolt open, chamber the top round and leave 9 in the mag. That leaves enough extra space at the bottom of the mag for that round to move down without being squashed. 10+1 is nice, bu
  12. I definitely plan on getting a Saiga and doing a conversion on it, but for right now, I decided to get the Yugo fixed wood stock. The stock and handguards are old, and have that smell of old wood. Like an old building with hard wood floors. Hard to explain, but I'm sure some of you know what I mean. It shoots well, but I need to spend some time sighting it in. I need to get a front sight block adjustment tool. Not sure how to adjust the rear sights for left/right, and I'm not too comfortable with the sight picture yet, either. The receiver is indeed beefy, and the rifle has a go
  13. So far I love mine. I did sand down the lip a little bit to the same level that my heavily used 5 rounders were at so that they would click into place on a closed bolt easier. BUT, here's the thing: There is less extra space at the bottom of the agp 10 rounders than the factory 5s, so if you put a full mag in on an open bolt, the top round will deform from being squished in there so tightly and give an FTF after the first shot. The solution is to just insert the 10 rounder with the bolt open and chamber the first round. The next shell down doesn't deform because it's not being squeezed
  14. Steering this thread back on track a little bit... I purchased a fixed stock yugo m70, and it should arrive at my FFL on Monday. I *will* eventually purchase a Saiga 7.62 and convert it so that I can honestly compare the two, but I think I will be happy that I own both of them. After that...maybe spend some bucks on an Arsenal? We'll see.
