I saw an article dated around 2003 on Saiga 12 talking about a BHO lever that would require a slot cut into the receiver. What became of this product? I have a Vepr in 7.62x39, and the Veprs and Saigas are about as close as you can get to siblings versus Romanian/Jordanian/German/Bulgarian AKs. I would like to install a last round bolt hold open that doesn't require custom mags/followers. Do you have any leads? Thanks in advance.

I haven't had a chance to hit the range with my modified gas tube (even larger vent holes) because its too damn cold and MI hunters crowd the lanes with their crappy loud bolt guns that can't hit the paper at 100yd.

I did this a few months ago (around August), but here's the full story again: I kept my original Robinson/Molot gas tube intact because I have never seen a bare gas tube like that for sale on the net, so it'd be hard to replace. I further modified my Bulgarian gas tube by enlarging all 8 holes to 1/4" in diameter vs the stock 1/8". How is the balance with the M4 stock? Is it too light? I was thinking about doing that on my VEPR, but it's barrel heavy if you take the rear stock off... with the Robarms stock... the balance is at the part where you insert the magazine. I was thinking about getting an A2 buttstock with the 3.5 lb lead weight insert and moving the balance point to possibly the pistol grip area.

Yes what model year CVPIs are you using? The Hemi V8s look great on paper but they're not consistent in real life. There are some bugs to work out... but I think it's the Mercedes Multi-Displacement system in the Magnum that is screwing things up.

The M4 stock won't be much shorter (even when fully contracted) on a Saiga/AK/RPK especially with the adapter that adds some length to it.

What kind of CVPI do you have? is your dept going to the Wimpalas or the new Crapnum (supposedly the Hemi versions do 0-60 in like 8-9 seconds in real life, and run high 14/low 15s in the 1/4... while some do 13s in the 1/4....)? $975 is kinda pricey tho... I know a guy who's with a PD in NC that bought a Bushmaster M4 (thru a letter from his dept I guess) for about $600 and it came with 4 30rd LE mags and a gun case.

The AR10 is way overpriced IMHO. If you think $550 for a VEPR is too expensive... I don't see how $1500+ for a 0.308" version of an AR-15 is inexpensive. Yes I know the upper and lowers are supposed to be different. Tighter/match grade perhaps? Why didn't they do that with the AR-15 lower? It's all machined anyhow.
