So who here, from the old days...
SaltPeter replied to Azrial's topic in General Discussion - Any topic is welcome here!!!
Since May 25th, 2003, I've been here. Me and my Saiga 12 always will be. -
Mine looks just like that, same markings and all. It came with two factory 8-round mags, one of which is too jammy to use.

Police department oral board
SaltPeter replied to longhorn's topic in General Discussion - Any topic is welcome here!!!
I've been a cop for eight years now and I've sat on a couple oral boards asking the questions and rating the applicants. My advice, besides the obvious: be honest, is to try to explain your answers with logic. A simple yes or no won't do here. Try to explain your thought process a little in a way that lets them know you are good police officer material. Also, a lot of the questions are moral dilemas that you'll have to sort out right in front of them while they watch you. For example, they'll ask you what you'd do if you saw another officer break the law. They really want to see you in a tough spot here. If you just say "I'd report him immediately", they know you're just trying to tell them what they want to hear. If you hem and haw a little, but then come to the conclusion that although it would be hard to do, you'd report him anyway, they know that you're a real person but you're willing to do the right thing no matter what. Just my two cents having been on both sides. -

I agree with the bicycle innertube. I actually went dumpster diving at the local bicycle shop to get mine. -
Camaro, Challenger or Mustang
SaltPeter replied to Elkhound's topic in General Discussion - Any topic is welcome here!!!
I voted for the Challenger since it will probably end up being the most collectible of the three. That said, I bought a Mustang due to the price, the ability to customize with all the aftermarket out there, and the nostalgia of my first car. Funny, I thought that I was the only one who bought my car based on my first car, which was also a Mustang of the same color. I sure wish I had parents like those on this thread, though. My first Mustang was an '85 that I got in '91 and it only had 88 horsepower! My new one, after a few mods, has around 350. -

One of those in 45-70 has been on my list for ten years now since I first saw one. I want to go pig hunting with one so bad. Maybe someday. -

This is a Superchips MicroTuner for your Dodge pickup or SUV. This works on gas-powered trucks (not diesel) and will increase horsepower by 10% and torque by 13%. It also has a Diagnostic Trouble Code display to tell you if there are any problems with your truck (useful when the "check engine" light or other dash light comes on). The microtuner plugs into the diagnostic port under your dash and has several programs to reprogram your truck's computer for performance, increasing top speed limiter and rev limiter, or increased towing. It also will recalibrate your speedometer based on the size tires you have. It copies the original factory data first so at the touch of a button, the vehicle can be returned to stock configuration. I used this on my Dakota 5.9L and got two seconds better in my 0-60mph and four miles per gallon better fuel mileage! I returned it to stock and sold the truck so I don't need this tuner anymore. Comes in box with all paperwork and instructions. $200.00 -

R. Lee is a cool guy; I met him once. Did you notice that the Thompson and the MP5 were shooting really fast? The (multiple) models I've shot had lower rates of fire. It seemed like the video had been sped up. Maybe I'm just hallucinating. -
Wow, you're right, Bvamp. Pam. I wonder if anyone remembers her besides me and you.

Damn, those were good times.
