  2. Friends, I bought a new SGL41 and tried it out for the first time 2 days ago. With the factory 4 round mag it jammed quite a bit and I don't know if it was the gun or the shells. I'm using my own reloads of Fiocchi 3" hulls. Also, and equally as disappointing, I loaded up my new Surefire 15 rounder with these same reloads and couldn't even get the mag into the receiver.. regardless of how many rounds I had in the mag! It seems their too long!? WTF. So, it's either the gun is jamming or it the Fiocchi hulls. Anyone have a similar experience? How about the Surefire 15er not fitting?
  3. Sorry for the duplicate post. Please see my other post of the same topic. Thanks
  4. Bingo! It worked. Thanks much! Clay
  5. Thanks Volkov.. I understand what you mean and I've found some video's on youtube showing whjat your describing. Problem is, the Arsenal top hand-guard is so tightly pressed between the front/rear retaining brackets of the gas tube that it seems as if it was "pressed" on and cannot be removed. I'll try anyway. I sent an inquiry to Arsenal and asked if the top hand-guard is replaceable. If they say no, I'll be bummed. I'll post what I find so others will also know about the Saiga/Arsenal conversion. Clay
  6. Thanks. It doesn't have a bolt.. but I just got it off. I guess my biggest question is if the poly furniture on this Arsenal SGL41 (converted Saiga 410)can be replaced with wood. I can't see how I could get the top handguard off of the front/rear retaining clips. It looks like it's all press on together. Arrrrrh.
  7. Friends, I just purchased an Arsenal SLG41 and am trying to remove the hand-guard. I thought I knew what I was doing but I'm having difficulty and need some advice. I've raised the little lever to the right of the rear site and am pulling the upper hand-guard towards the receiver while trying to lift up.. but it only moves a little and I'm afraid to break or scratch something. Any advice? Thanks much, Claypij
  8. Sorry for the lack of clarity. On one side of the surefire mag, at the top and on one side (not both sides) I put some dabs of epoxy and smeared it about. Capice? Clay
  9. Thank you Gentlemen. Yes, it's a Surefire that's been modified to accommodate steel Barnal shells and I epoxied one top side to reduce the wobble. Just put some on, let it cure and sand down until it fits to your liking.
  10. ... with the possible exception of a FSB. Thanks for Danzig for his compliance components and Battlerifle for his red oak furniture!. I did some tweaking and everything went well. I like it. Clay
  11. Friends, I have 2 Surefire 10 round magazines for the Saiga 410 that I won't be needing. They've never been used, 1 is still in the sealed poly bag and the other has been modified to accommodate the metal hulled Russian shells. Mississippi Arms has them on sale at $41.55 ea. plus $7 S & H. You can have them both for $70 + actual postage. First come first serve. Let me know. Thanks, Clay
  12. Nothing comes up except your response mentioning dental floss. Can you be more specific? Thanks, Clay
  13. Friends.. I'm certain this topic has been covered numerous times. Could someone point me to the info concerning re-installation of the BHO for my saiga .410? I'm down to the the wire and so far it's been smoothe sailing.. with the exception of the BHO. All the instructions I've found don't mention it. Is it eliminated by necessity? Or can I re-install it? How? Spring? HELP Thanks, Clay
  14. Saiga 410 Friends, After almost 2 years I'm finally getting to my conversion. I'm at the point of searching for a sling and most importantly... the sling rings. I have the rings that came with my gun and imagine I can reuse them. But they are so narrow (3/4" wide). It seems a sling with a snap clip on each end is needed? Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks, Clay
  15. Friends, After 1 1/2 years of waiting patiently I'm about to step towards the hands-on part of converting my 410s. I'm tapped out of enough money to buy a new FSB and am wondering if anyone has a used one they are willing to sell to me.... one that I hopefully can afford. Let me know at: adamas10033@gmail.com Thanks, Clay
  16. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thanks Turbo1889. If you're also reloading the Gold Bear hulls you've answered my question. Sportman's Guide says the Golden Bears are not reloadable. As per your advice, I'll treat both the Golden Bear and Silver Bear the same. Thanks again. Clay
  17. Turbo, I remember somewhere it was said the Barnal brass (not steel) hulls are NOT reloadable. I'm curious if you've figure out a way to get around this? Maybe with the Circle Fly .430 cards above power? What's the deal? Thanks much. Claypij
  18. Friends, Battle seems to be pretty busy and I've been on his waiting list for some time. I'm wondering if anyone has any wood furniture for a Saiga 410s... either 2 piece for unconverted or 4 piece for converted, available to sell. Preferably unfinished, but I'm open. Let me know. Claypij
  19. I also bought two Surefire 10 rounders... bummer... and waited so long to get them! If anyone comes up with a way to modify/make them work with the Barnauls please let me know (stefano10003@verizon.net). In the meantime I wrote a complaint letter to Mississippi Arms concerning such, and asked if Surefire was considering a modification for us Steel hullers. Thanks, Claypij.
  20. Well, when I reload full length brass shells for the .410 I usually use a combination of these components: ~1/4 Fiber Wad ( from midwayusa.com ) ~3/8 Fiber Wad ( from midwayusa.com ) ~1/2 Fiber Wad ( from midwayusa.com ) ~1/8 Nitro Card ( from midwayusa.com ) ~410 Over Shot Card ( from midwayusa.com ) ~Remington Shot Cup/Wad ( from midwayusa.com ) And Finally I add a little bit of Electricians Wire pulling lube to regular white glue and use this to glue things inside the shell when needed. The pulling lube is made up of mainly perafin wax with a little silicon and makes the white
  21. Turbo.. you're the man. Thanks a million! Clay

  23. My recent post inquiring about components for reloading 410 shot shells was specifically about Barnaul steel hulls. Sorry for my lack of clarity. If anyone knows of that thread I'd appreciate being lead to it. Claypij
