  1. 1000, 1001, 1002. Thanks Mike!
  2. It's a cheap piece of crap holo dot I was just using to mock up the sight position. Got it with a crossbow a while back. It's since been replaced with a (slightly less) cheap 45mm red dot scope.
  3. Shoot bunnies, birds and clays with mine. The full barrel rib on my Remington pump is way more natural to me than the standard S-12 sights. I just converted it last weekend and added a side rail mount and red-dot, but haven't gone hunting yet (tomorrow can't come soon enough!). If the red-dot doesn't work out, I'm seriously going to consider fabbing up a full barrel length rib and bead sight.
  4. I ordered this dual rail side mount for mine. Sits very close to the cover, but not too close to prevent cover removal. Obstructs the view of the standard sights. Contrary to a couple of the reviews, the top rail is lined up perfectly with the sights. $23 + shipping and I'm very happy with it. http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/ItemDetail.aspx?sku=AKS-006 Here's how it looks on the gun. Russ
  5. The riveted ends on my pins were so thin, I just punched the rivets out and reused them when my conversion was done.
  6. Here's my first conversion. Tapco M4 collapsible stock/PG. Made to work with stock Saigas. Bought it before reading up on 922r, decided to convert and made the stock and PG work with the conversion. Tapco G2 FCG that I took the grinder to. BHO mod for pin retainer plate. Stock cut down trigger guard and selector safety stop. Dual rail side mount with cheapo holo dot (picking up my red dot at the post office today). $15 cheaperthandirt rail and fore end pistol grip. Took the foregrip to my redneck mill (belt sander) to level the bottom for rail installation. Keeping the barrel l
  7. Finally found some time Sunday night and finished up the conversion. Turned out pretty good I think. Keeping the long barrel as it is my primary quail gun. Before and after pics... Russ
  8. Whoa. You sound like you might be my long lost twin. Got a couple of mark 2s (yours looks nice, BTW), a 10-22, and a S-12 too. Picked up a stripped Sun Devil billet lower at the gun show last weekend and just ordered my custom upper from Del-ton a couple days ago! I got others of course, but those are my current favorites. I've only done this one so far, but it's all seemed pretty straightforward. We'll see how it all goes together! Grinding, cutting, and drilling a hole or two is really all of it. Read through the tutorials and you'll see it's not that difficult if you know
  9. After reading up on it for the last couple weeks, I decided to go for the conversion. I'm using this tutorial: http://www.cross-conn.com/Saiga_Conversion/index.htm along with Cobra's great writeup here: http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=5178 I removed the furniture & stripped the receiver down last night. Just need to make the pistol grip hole, forward trigger guard hole, refinish the receiver bottom, and she's ready for parts (The last of the parts should show up tomorrow). I ordered a Tapco collapsing m4 style stock/PG, Tapco G2 FCG, side rail, and a loos
  10. How about adding one of these? Promag PM131 rail mount sling swivel
  11. How about buying a few of these? http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.6830 Remove them from their plastic case, drill out a couple holes in the rear sight and glue two of them in? Get the Dinzag front sight, grind the post down to the fat part, and drill it out. Insert third tritium vial vertically and glue it in. Dinzag FSB = $95 3 Dealextreme Tritium keychains = $30 shipped -------------------------------------- Total = around $130 shipped I'm cheap, cause it lets me buy more guns! Russ
  12. I just bought a belt clip/loop pouch like this for carrying my four 5-rounders in at the gun show. Couldn't find anything that would clip on to my belt that would remotely fit my 10 rounders. Maybe you could wrap a velcro strap around them and stick them to your vest/backpack/belt? Or maybe a pouch like this: I just throw my 10-rounders in my backpack when I'm not hunting. Not very accessible, but don't need to get to em quick when I'm just plinking. Russ
