so I sold my S-12 yesterday before I got a chance to convert (a new .45 was calling my name) My receipts show $600 tied up in parts that I now need to sell and I'd like to sell them as a "conversion package." All parts are brand new with the exception of the Romanian AK trigger guard which came from a de-miled rifle Tromix/Lage stock or Ace mid-length skeleton (your choice!) Ace stock includes both the 1/2" and 1" recoil pads Ace internal stock adapter or universal block (your choice!) What do you think? Part 2

normally, I would write-off Nazi comparisons to US political figures as extremist . . . what's sad is that with this upcoming presidential race, I can see the similarities clearly -

fine-lookin' firearm you got there -
check the picture thread that is stickied at the top of the S-12 section of the forum. ACE skeleton (with or without folding mechanism), Tromix/Lage, AK copies of all shapes and sizes . . . with an adapter you can run any AR-15 type stock too. I personally like the ACE SOCOMs since they're so strong but the regular M4 style is kinda popular too. Tapco stocks tend to be a little less $$ but are also not as strong as ACE, VLTOR, and the other (somewhat) higher-end companies

Mississippi Auto Arms Now Carries All Tromix Parts
caughtlikefire replied to TonyRumore's topic in TROMIX.com
oh ok, so the stock and handguard are both being made by Lage? of the same material? that should be a perfect - the Tromix stock is built like a tank -
rear is ghost ring and comes with a removable aperture for shooting slugs (makes it kinda like a peep sight). front clamps on the barrel and is AK style as far as looks go but uses an AR-15 sight post, which is great because there are lots of options for different size posts, fiber optic posts, and tritium (night sight) posts. I have an XS Tritium front post on mine. all you need is the $5-$10 AR sight tool to remove and install.

target is end of this month, maybe first week of March. you might want to call up Nathan and get on the waiting list -
I didn't mean to imply you were crazy for wanting a small aperture - just trying to make the point that the aperture was pretty small for a shotgun since I don't have a way to get any decent pics posted for you. I'd recommend giving Krebs a call - I've talked with Mike a few times this past week concerning their safety levers and he's been extremely helpful. Maybe they use the same size ring as say, XS Sights, so then you could call up XS and get a new aperture. by the way, I think the appropriate size for the set screw was posted by Tony@Tromix several months ago (search for "Krebs

despite what their website says/shows, it does come with an aperture now. Mine is black nylon/plastic and is pretty damn small. I can't imagine wanting a smaller aperture on a shotgun - it's probably perfect for slugs. you will need to source a set screw/grub screw though to lock it in place before you mount the ghost ring. the aperture is in there tight (had to tap mine out and it took a good bit of effort) but over time it may work loose w/out a set screw and blue threadlocker.

I have the XS tritium stripe on my S12 and it's great. Since I have the Krebs Custom front sight, mine is technically an AR-15 sight post though, not the AK. The tritium stripe works great with the ghost ring rear. I wouldn't hesitate. XS makes excellent sights and they use Trijicon tritium vials most of the time if I remember correcly.

start here: http://www.msautoarms.com/index.php?main_p...f49431620a4c592 Tromix parts are some of the best for the S12 and Mississippi auto Arms is the place to get them. you can also check out RedStar Arms, BlackJack Buffers, and Dinzag Arms. that'll get you started. you can find out a lot by going to the "Items for Sale from Business Members" too. And you can check out the picture thread in this part of the forum (sticky thread at the top) for pictures to give you ideas oops . . .almost forgot . . .for the sights, put in an order with Krebs Customs http://www.krebscustom.com/

just got off the phone with Nathan an hour ago. there was a slip up in my order for a Tromix Galil handguard and piston and they hadn't arrived after a week. he cleared it up, offered to ship ASAP but I was actually able to work out a better deal: I had ordered the Galil HG before I saw the new Tromix design and I was able to scrap the old order tonight and get on the list for the new HG. MAA is definitely customer service oriented - most places aren't that flexible with cancellations/order changes. -
once again, looks good. trying to watch and learn to see if there's anything I can do better on my own conversion. I'm trying to modify a RedStar tactical mag release to work with my S12 since I have the regular AK trigger guard that it normally mates to. I won't be able to get it as close to the trigger as your custom one but it should work out ok.

I did just that last night but I realized this morning that metal coatings (chemical bath type) won't stick to JB weld I'm seriously considering sending my S12 to Robar when the conversion is complete so looks like I need to drill/grind out the JB and get somebody to weld the hole closed.
