mickporno 0
i finally finished....whew!!!....it's not hard.....but it's not easy either....i was afraid i was gonna mess it up but once i got into it i understood everything and at that point it just became time consuming...you need a dremel with some heavy duty cutting wheels....and some good drill bits, these receivers are tough to drill....it's all together and i'm gonna test fire it tomorrow. Bvamp 604
metal in the white is always tough to drill.....looks good mickporno, wish i could do that to mine here in new york! (does it shoot as good as I think now?)

(does it shoot as good as I think now?) the trigger guard was the hardest thing to do....and fitting the double hook fire control group....i've taken it apart so many times i think i could do it in the dark now....i test fired it yesterday with no stock on it and it fired fine, but then i cut the barrel to 18.5 inches....mounted A2 stock and trigger guard this evening...i think it's gonna be sweet!!! Bvamp 604
paint it BRIGHT yellow pink and chartruse with your mammaflage. they will laugh for about as long as it takes you to step up and put a whoopin on em. just make sure you can get the paint back off of it LOL. either that, or buy another one! hell buy two more! kmoore 3
Chartruesse? You gonna start shooting with Mark? Or maybe just buy his pistol? Any chance you'll bring this Monday night? Guess you heard the Norfolk folks called off the match, and Rivanna cancelled IDPA classifier and switched to a small indoor match. Awesome work.
mickporno 0
Awesome work ! How do you like the A2 stock ? How did you mount it ? red star arms had an adapter that allows you to mount an AR type stock to the AK style reciever...i just got a collapsible AR stock in today...it's even more better .....i'll post a pic of it later.....yes ken i'll be bringing it monday nite if you wanna take a look at it....got a few more mods i wanna do and then i think i'll be finished with it ....for a while...... KySoldier 2
Humm, you should paint the forend to match, would definitely catch people's attention!
mickporno 0
Humm, you should paint the forend to match, would definitely catch people's attention! it's definitely gonna get a unique paint job....haven't decided which colors yet...i want to to be different from any other saiga ...one of the problems i've had with it being black is that we shoot alot of summer matches where it sits in the sun until it's my time to shoot and by then it's so hot you can hardly hold on to it....i'm thinking something in a lighter color that doesn't get so hot would be good.....maybe a desert camo pattern....i'll be sure to post pics.... Entrefal 0
Where did you pick up that mag?
inparidel 4
I hear ya' brother as far as the summer matches go. Here in SUNNY FL, leaving it in the sun is not even an option. You could raise a proper blister if you did. You guys need to get a canopy or something to shade the gun rack. By the way, I don't think that camo or OD paint will make all that much difference. I know you probably hacve answered this a million times before, but, where'd ya get the 8 rounders? mickporno 0
some of the matches we shoot, you're just out in a big field and there are several stages so they'd need a canopy at every stage....there's just not much if any shade to be had....i switched from a black tac vest to a desert camo one and i made a huge difference so i figger'd i'd do the same with the saiga after the conversion....i know that sitting in the sun it'll still get warm but hopefully not blistering hot like before.....the mag?....that mag was purchased from assassin on this forum.... test fired the saiga last nite for the first time since finishing the conversion and it worked great.....kicks pretty hard with slugs and you can really feel it now with the new stock on it but i think i can live with it....now to break it down...crown the barrel where we cut it...loctite all the screws and put a paint job on er'.....
