BobAsh 582
It's a nice write up, but I have to LOL at AKUSA having a better reputation for converting Saigas than Tony.

GeoJAP 0
By the way, does anyone know where I can get a decent sling to mount on this rifle? The forward sling swivel and mount will need to be replaced too, it just doesn't seem sturdy. Thanks!
wlchase 0
Nice looking rifle! I'm really pleased with my V-Tac Quick Adjust sling! Bill
3balltony 0
Nice gun, and a excellent conversion, but we home 'Smiths' arnt too shabby either I spent about 225-250.00 in parts and accessories on converting my saiga .223 used one of Danzags feed ramp kits along with a G2 FCG polished by me and my dremel ran 275 rounds throught it at the range with no FTF"S from orlites or waffles,If you dont have the time or confidence to do it yourself, TROMIX and AKUSA are excellent choices but there are quality kits out there that should not be overlooked Karl

GeoJAP 0
Thanks for the replies and suggestions. After doing a lot of searching last night, this is the sling that I found that I like the most. This company has a lot of really interesting gear. http://www.blueforcegear.com/product.cfm?t...&prod_id=
uzitiger 193
You can thread the barrel if you 'circumcise' it. I filed down the sleeve in front of the sight block and was able to remove it and a friend helped me thread the barrel end.

GeoJAP 0
Enjoy. Picture-goodness included. I just got this rifle about 2 weeks ago and I'm glad I got it now when I did. http://www.jasonphillips.org/content/photos/Saiga/Saiga.asp I had to reorganize the folders in my website. It's now http://www.jasonphillips.org/Firearms_Saiga/Saiga.asp I just ordered Dinzag's 2-piece handguard retention plate so that I could mount a proper sling and also use a more traditional AKM handguard. I can't wait until it gets here and I can try it out with the new mods.
