I ordered the lower version of that mount that doesn't allow the use of the irons, but like I said, it is a very good mount and it seems like it's almost as durable as my Saiga. So I would recommend this particular mount to you. P.s.- i had some difficulty getting my scope to adjust low enough to make zero, so i "chocked" the rear of the scope by adding a piece of rubber in between the ring and the scope. It worked perfectly and it also kind of acts like a recoil buffer to the scope. This problem wasn't due to anything the mount caused, but its just the nature of AK side rails. I guess I'll look around a bit more before breaking out the plastic. Thanks for the review and the link Ax-Man! Bookmarked! Paul
b2673ad 0
Hello Look on Amazon.com for this one. Sits high enough to allow for the iron sights.
aka108 0
After you get the scope thing settled you might want to get yourself a cheek pad. Will most likely help in getting better accuracy. Hard to get a good hold without the cheek weld to the stock.
GreenSide 0
I would like to acquire a side mount also, but I am trying to figure which one is the best for me. I am looking for a mount that is not too high but not too low so that I can utilize my iron sights if necessary. The positioning of the side mount over the rifle is also very important; it would be nice to find one that is centered over the rifle. I would love to see pictures of mounts on actual rifles so that I can get an idea of what would be a practical and smart purchase decision. I have looked at the older threads and done some browsing online but I still have not found the "magic mount".
