true.believer 10
Are there any plans to make the .30Cal rifle shark brakes avaiable again? The S-12 shark brake is just so wickedly awesome I can't imagine building a Saiga AK without one of these on it!
TonyRumore 1,332
Yes. Mississippiautoarms.com will have them in about 2 weeks. The date keeps slipping as the CNC shop keeps screwing them up. Sooner or later they will get them right. Tony

Norty 13
Will the .30 fit on a Yugo M70/AK47? The barrel is threaded I just do not know the thread pattern.
TonyRumore 1,332
The AR-15 brakes are 1/2-28, the AR-10 brakes are 5/8-24, and the AK-47 brakes are 14mmx1.0LH. I can also do Mini 14 9/16-24, and HK 15mmx1.0R/H. Tony

Norty 13
Tromix Shark Brake on Yugo M70.
BobAsh 582
Norty, it's supposed to go with the 2 holes straight up and the gill slots to either side. FYI. You can stack washers, use peel washers or spring washers to accomplish this. Edited April 21, 2008 by BobAsh

Should I use some locktite on the threads?
TonyRumore 1,332
You can just use locktite with no washer at all if you want. Chances are you won't get the barrel hot enough to break it loose. An AR-10 peel washer it probably a better choice though. DPMS sells them. Tony

WS6_Keith 0
Will this brake fit on the S-308? Doesn't seem to be much real estate up there for threads. Do you just move the FSB back?
TonyRumore 1,332
You would have to move the FSB back, then turn the barrel down to .550", then rethread 14x1.0LH. Tony
MD_Willington 11
Hey here's a thought, how about a 4 piece flash suppressor like the 4 piece Bulgarian... but with a shark-like appearance.. Freaky !

I suggest 5/8-24 threads for a S308. You don't have to turn down the barrel for it, and you can use a lot of different muzzle devices. There is a Tromix brake in that pitch, so no loss there. PWS makes a good brake/FH in that pitch as well. It suppresses flash slightly, but the brake works good. I haven't tried the tromix brake yet, but I will probably put one on my 16inch s308 when I get around to threading the barrel.
