Wats the best way to remove the 2 welds holding the plate that covers the correct trigger location.

Get you a Dremel and just grind it, that's what i did. A Dremel is an amateur Gunsmiths best friend. That or you can just get some files and a touch of tendonitis

you need them off before you can remove it right? just take the heads of the rivets off, then you should be able to "pop" the plate off

Wedge a cold chisel in between the plate and the receiver and give her a whack, then dremel what's left of the welds. Works like a champ.

I thin mine at the welds from the outside of the plate with the dremel then pop the whole plate off with a cold chisel to avoid cutting into my receiver then I use a fine flat file to take the spot weld humps flat.

The two spot welds in the middle part of the plate can be partially drilled with a carbide bit, before prying it off when they are mostly drilled out.
