bthompson 0
My brand new Saiga 12 will not cycle at all. I have tried regulating the gas system on nearly every setting and sadly, it is still a single shot I was shooting 2&3/4 inch remington heavy game loads. Its recoil is crazy for a 12 gauge birdshot load. It is as if I was shooting it out of an actual single shot. Sorry if this is a stupid question. I'm not good with the search function. madmax4x4 68
is it converted? Or do you have a buff in it?
bthompson 0
is it converted? Or do you have a buff in it? No buffer, its internals have not been messed with. The one thing I lazily installed was a PG stock.
mavrick16o 6
make sure your gas piston is moving freely. and also mark the gas knob on the out side where the angled section comes down to the numbers, this way when you screw the gas selector all the way down!!!!! you can make sure the angled section is lined up with the gas port at the bottom of the gas tube. but it sounds like the gas port is clogged or blocked off. and put some 3"mag down it for fun it will to soften up the spring and cycle the action, it wont screw up anything (i did it once as a rookie mistake, having the gas blocked off and firing 00 buck, it cycled, but only from the recoil)

Is there any easy fix for this? Edited July 10, 2008 by bthompson

Is there any easy fix for this? You got to get the "Puck" out somehow. Once you do that I'd clean the puck and gas block where you get metal to metal contact, using valve grinding compound, steel wool, or even light sand paper. Make sure you take a good look at the puck and gas block. It might just be a metal bur or blemish Ivan missed after a liquid lunch break.
