Can drum be stored loaded?

Recommended Posts

Mike,

I got in the order today and just got back from the range.

It works!

No problems with 50 rounds of Winchester.

Just wondering how long you think the drum could be left loaded.

I leave my glock mags loaded for weeks at a time but they have a different kind of spring.

Thanks

Tom

People say its not leaving the spring under tension that wears it out, but the process of putting it under pressure and letting the pressure off many times.

If you are not going to use it for HD, load it up and see, Mike sells replacement springs at a reasonable price.

A Spring is a Spring. They do not 'wear out' from compression. Junior High Physics 101.

Unfortunately they had not yet got around to the merits of the spring back in 1975 when I went through Junior High Physics 101. IIRC we were still discussing the advantages/disavantages of the wheel. :haha::haha::haha::haha:

Correct. Also torsion springs generally have a much longer lifespan (counted in cycles) than compression springs.
