Are safety levers interchangeable?

I just converted my 7.62. Had a helluva time tryin' to put the safety lever back in after I put the BHO in. I took the lever and ground off too much material, due to the problem I was having clearing part of the FCG. Now the safety doesn't work now ( slam fires once lever is turned down to fire position after trigger is pulled).

I'm just gonna replace the bastard, but I need to know if the Saigas safety levers are interchangeable with the Wasr-10. I did a search for the standard Saiga lever, (as far as who sells them), and found none, but they do sell replacements for the Romanians. I have a Wasr that WILL sacrifice her lever, if anyone knows for sure that they are interchangable.

Yes, all AKM/AK74 type safety levers should be interchangeable.

 

Not sure about the shotty levers, but that isn't an issue here.

There was a fairly recent through about how standard safety levers have the divot in a different place. So there will be two "scratch" lines. Functions fine. Just an fyi.

Before you order a new Safety, you might want to try the WASR Safety in you Saiga (should work, and will show you if the replacement Romanian Safety will work in the Saiga). Also, try the Saiga Safety in your WASR (it might work there even though it doesn't in the Saiga). If they both work when swapped, you're good to go.

Thank yous guys fer the replys. I ended up taking my wire feed welder, and building up both of the safety levers on both Saigas that I've been working over, due to the problem of the weapons firing on safety mode. On the one I converted, I had problems with putting the lever back in, after the Tapco trigger conversion. So instead of rocking the thing-a-ma-jig forward, I got pissed, pulled it out, and ground too much off the bastard (which caused the hammer to fly home once the trigger was pulled) (Been drinkin' since 12:30 p.m., now 10:07p.m., so any questions---, or request fer pictures, I should be sober by 10:00 PST... will be glad to answer any questions you will have

 

Anyways, to make a long story short, I got my shit together, and answered my own stupid question. J.D.

i have a few dif ak platform weapons and i can say they will interchange but tollerences will vary often extremely....a saftey might go in a gun just fine, but not want to come back out, or it wont really work, or it'll work too well and not be able to go over the "back of the trigger ears"
